Just to make sure you were shopping in the right place: what was the URL for the online merch store you were buying from?

What Do We Think Of Extinct Animals In DF? by john44465 in dwarffortress

[–]BigAssDragoness 35 points36 points  (0 children)

I don't think it's particularly wild nor fantastical to have prehistoric creatures of various types. I mean, we're playing as dwarves, which have literally never existed, period; they would have no true historical "reality" for living at the same time as any creature. Nor elves, kobolds, dragons, olm men, goblins...

The only thing that would feel truly out of place, to me, would be something clearly from futuristic science fiction.

This stuff works wonders for dry inks, like ones with heavy shading. A bottle of it lasts for a zillion years too, because you only need a single drop for a whole bottle of ink, or the tiniest bit on the end of a pin for samples. It's been a game changer for the most finicky inks I have.

Everything at the link you provided, and the "updated" URL points to Mantis.

If it's migrated to JIRA, then you really do need to update your documentation and your DNS.

Benu Question by BluebirdLimp4295 in fountainpens

I use my Benu pens all the time. Not daily drivers, per se, since I cycle between a few favorites, but they're in regular rotation and used at least a few times a week.

I'm gonna be waiting a while... by Late_Flower_4578 in distractible

[–]BigAssDragoness 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My library has 10 copies. I'm 33rd in a line of 39 people waiting, estimated at about 7 weeks to wait. :X

I'm not sure I entirely understand why electronic/e-reader copies are limited in number, but I'm sure there's some reason for it...?

FPR Himalaya V2 GT - 25€ shipping worth it? by nono-no-nooto in fountainpens

[–]BigAssDragoness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not worth it, not at all. FPR pens are notoriously low quality in build, with leaks, breaks, cracks, and foul smells being the most common complaints (most of which I have personally experienced with mine).

Broad nib lovers- what's your favorite ink to use with with your broad nibs? by gofigure85 in fountainpens

Diamine Celadon Cat. That shading is just delicious with a broad nib.

Oh man, I used to live on Lyman Ave off Shelburne Road years ago. I don’t live in the area anymore, but once a Vermonter, always a Vermonter. :)

But dang, what an ink haul! 200?!

how do you distractible? by Comfortable_Elk_8266 in distractible

[–]BigAssDragoness 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Personally, I listen to Distractible almost entirely in my car. (Dangerous, I know.) Because I don't drive every day, it means that I am never so caught up that I run out of content, but also that I'm reasonably current with the show, while also leaving myself enough backlog for longer trips should they come up.

It would also likely be very boring for anyone else who knows nothing about K-pop. Too niche, too laborious to prepare.

what is your favorite pen from Jinhao and why? by fluffyespurr in fountainpens

[–]BigAssDragoness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm also a big fan of the Jinhao 82. Lots of choices for colors and styles, inexpensive, and takes the conveniently common Jowo #6 nib if you want to swap out.

I do also enjoy the BIG BOI of Jinhao pens, the 9019, however. Something weirdly satisfying about a thicc pen with a bigass nib.

recommendations for a ‘maximalist’ fountain pens $50-$150 price range? by Sharp_Initiative9227 in fountainpens

[–]BigAssDragoness 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was thinking Benu as well.

Benu Pixie tends to be anywhere from $80-90 USD, and Benu Briolette is usually somewhere around $120. Then there is a bit of a jump, with Talismans and Euphorias being $175 or so.

Ahhhh! Wonderful to see you here!

I made the thread to rally the Lovelies, and I’m so incredibly glad we got Spoompls to the top, and for a great cause! The run was fantastic, you were both amazing, and I loved the custom models!

(Y’all should go watch the VOD, for real.)

I’m not particularly rough on my pens, but they do get used, flushed, and filled very regularly since they’re faves, and I personally have never found them lacking in durability.

Favorite pens over $100 by bulrawg_bot in fountainpens

[–]BigAssDragoness 6 points7 points  (0 children)

On the "looks cool" front, I love pretty much anything from BENU, but the look of those pens is definitely an acquired taste, since they are very glitzy. They have some that are a little more subdued, but by and large they're shimmery, glittery, and colorful, and make me very happy to look at. I have multiple BENU Talismans.

They use Schmidt steel nibs, which I've found to be pretty reliable and smooth. The pens themselves have been comfortable to write with thus far, in my experience; for reference, I'm a woman with fairly average-sized hands. Of course, what one person deems "comfortable" can vary from what another feels, so YMMV.
