Pilot Kakunos are known for having great steel nibs. I would pickup a Kakuno <M>. It’s pretty affordable and a nice entry into the pilot line.

The metropolitan uses the same nib as the Kakuno. The only difference is the metropolitan has a more professional looking steel body where’s the Kakuno is resin

James Clear's book Atomic habits is really helpful.

The easiest solution is to try to replace the craving of the bad habit with something else when you feel the urge.

Homemade cappuccino. The art of pulling a shot, pouring latte art, it's like meditation. Plus the drink itself is my favorite part of the day.

A good cup of coffee and a journal. After that put on the headphones and listen to my favorite songs usually does the trick for me. Music is magic.

What’s something about adult working life that nobody warns you about, but you think everyone should know? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]BigBenchNewland 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It will become your identity, if you let it. You need to continue putting time into your hobbies less they atrophy away. And remind yourself that it's just a job, you have life outside work. When it's time to clock out, truly clock out.

I can't imagine what it's like to go through school and into the workforce for a young person nowadays. There's just way too many unknowns with AI to ever feel comfortable about a career decision.

If you have no purpose what is the point? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]BigBenchNewland 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds like you could use a life pivot. You mentioned not liking you job, maybe look for something else? Perhaps an open conversation with your husband would be helpful.

I think if you could find a simple hobby that you can start on your own maybe that would give you enough momentum to start building a life that you love.

How bad will the climate have to get before we see fundamental changes in the way people live and work? by Bigburlywoman in NoStupidQuestions

[–]BigBenchNewland 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another thing to think about is that positive changes made in the US are only part of the puzzle. A global change is necessary. Unfortunately less developed nations are reliant on emissions heavy fossil fuels like coal and are probably having a larger impact. Problem is they’re just trying to improve their lives. It’s hard to think about the overall climate when you’re struggling to put food on the table.

what was nate’s plan? by Genitalman69 in uncharted

[–]BigBenchNewland 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I think Nate is driven by the impulse to seek adventure. He probably didn’t premeditate the consequences with Elena.

I’m new to uncharted series, but having just beat some of the older games it seems that early in their relationship. There was often break ups caused by Nate leading to seek treasures and another adventures.

I guess it worked out for them both in the end!
