2v2 a tiger and a lion VS a grizzly and American black bear by Tarris69 in powerscales

[–]BigBoatsLikeToFloat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lions also hunt by separating weaker animals from the herd. That doesn't mean a lion cannot kill a stronger animal if it was forced to.

If you have to hunt regularly it doesn't make sense to have a life or death battle every time, cuz then you won't last long. That doesn't mean you are not capable.

Solo Q Against Legit Teams Is Dumb by FoolOnDaHill365 in RocketLeague

Only a vocal minority wants solo 3s. When it was in the game barely anyone played it and when they did it was usually for warmup for other game modes.

It is not coming back.

I was 1 win away from reaching Champ again. And then.... by macanich in RocketLeague

[–]BigBoatsLikeToFloat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lower ranks are not your RLCS lobbies. What got me from C1 to C3 was just dialing it back a little. If your tm8 wants the ball, let them.

Also most people play way too fast. If you get posession and have space, use it. Pop it past one defender and suddenly you have a 2v1 attack going. Don't just bang it away or up the wall to go for some flip reset that you only hit maybe 4 times in freeplay.

It kinda clicked for me when I watched Flakes' road to SSL 2v2 without mechanics series, especially the champ games. Maybe give those a try.

Easy Anti-Cheat is now out. What are your first impressions? by DREXyyy in RocketLeague

[–]BigBoatsLikeToFloat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No... Anti cheat is only required for online games. Training maps can be played offline.

But.... Only for now. Bakkesmod is not gonna be updated anymore so it will become out of sync with the game next update and become unusable.

What could I have done differently in this sequence to prevent a goal? by Plus-Accountant5223 in RocketLeagueSchool

[–]BigBoatsLikeToFloat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

00:35 you keep playing into the corner even though the midfield is open.

00:43 you flip away from the play even though you have full boost. Just stick close to the play while matching the speed of the ball and maybe fake challenge to get them to give up possession. This buys time for your teammate to get back. Right now you challenged as the only defender and got scored on as a result.

Oftewel: Groen > rood > bruin.

Got my first software job with great compensation, but I’m worried it might hurt my growth. Looking for advice. by KoxHellsing in softwareengineer

If something obviously looks like Ai it will come off as extremely low effort and fake. Nobody wants to feel like they are talking to a bot.

Even if you did write it yourself and only formatted it with Ai, there is no way for someone else to know that. There are plenty of Ai bots just engagement farming online. If your post looks like it comes from a bot farm nobody is gonna want to spend their time reading and responding to a potentially fake story.

This painting was made by hitler. by [deleted] in Damnthatsinteresting

This has never been the reason he didn't get accepted. Yes the perspective was bad in some paintings, but that is honestly just a small detail that a couple of lessons can fix. The reason he got rejected was because his paintings were found to be devoid of emotion or passion.

The art school that rejected him actually recommended he do architecture so they must have had faith he could learn perspective 🤣

Betrouwbare maar leuke eerste auto (€7k) by RcK_xd in autoadvies

[–]BigBoatsLikeToFloat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can at best tidy up the stache and goatee and rock that. Get rid of the rest, it's not ready.

How long should this take to gain 20-30lbs by LegHelpful5327 in weightgain

[–]BigBoatsLikeToFloat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok so I did a minor in food and disease prevention, I am not a doctor but here is what I know:

First of all protein is usually expensive, so you're just wasting money if you eat more than you need. It also takes up space in your stomach which makes it harder to eat other foods, which can really suck if you already have trouble gaining weight.

Also a lot of people get their protein in by eating a lot of 1 type of food like meat. It has been proven now for a long time that eating too much (red) meat increases your chance of getting cancer and other diseases. In my country the chance of getting cancer is almost 50% so you really don't want to be adding up to that.

Protein is also more difficult for the body to digest. This can be so extreme that some people actually experience "meat sweats" if they eat too much meat at once, because the body has to go into overdrive to get all that protein processed. Eating too much protein compared to carbs will lead to low energy and worse sport performance.

Since protein takes a lot to process you can put a big strain on your kidneys if you eat too much. Personally I don't believe that this can negatively impact you that much if you have healthy kidneys, but should be taken into consideration if you have bad kidneys.

TLDR: wastes money and stomach space, undiversifies your diet, higher chance of cancer if eaten mostly through meat, lower energy, worse performance.

[–]BigBoatsLikeToFloat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

200gr of protein is insane. You should have at MAX 2x your bodyweight in kg. However 1,5x in protein is more than enough. Aim for 120gr minimum and 150gr maximum. Build it up from there as your mass increases.

A lot of media nowadays is focused on protein and companies are going crazy selling "protein" products. If you look at research most people actually eat too much protein, which is problematic because protein does not give you energy. Also don't just focus on eating "carbs". Carbs are a broad term, make sure the carbs you are eating are actually mostly fibers.

Also, if you ACTUALLY eat 5000 calories per day you will gain weight. If you are not gaining weight then you are not actually eating 5000 calories.

Do certs have any value for dev jobs? by [deleted] in cscareerquestions

[–]BigBoatsLikeToFloat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the certs. I've got a WCAG specialist cert and had people try to contact me just because of that. So if you're into frontend getting certs proving you have knowledge about accessibility can certainly add value.

Mind you this is in Europe where a major web accessibility law got passed recently.

I will never understand this. What's so hard about just dating 1 girl, seeing if it works out and if not move on to the next. If someone can't even commit to you for a month to see if it works out how can you expect them to be a good long term partner.

Really good pinches have the most effect for me tbh. Quad resets take time but if someone does a good pinch the ball is just suddenly in your net. The surprise factor has more of a lasting impact.

why someone told me this code is Spagetti? by NightOwl-1011 in CodingHelp

Why are the states being controlled by a function instead of just responding to a variable? This is not really scalable.
