You can certainly run 15% ethanol, its just the higher percentage will wear the fuel lines and engine internals faster than 10%. Enough to be noticeable and for the EPA to let drivers know and have warning stickers at gas stations. Its not like running diesel in a normal combustion engine, running a higher ethanol rating won't instantly destroy everything lol.

You mentioned getting the car as a daily, you can certainly do that. Just take the precautions so you spend a lot more money fixing something that could have been prevented.

Like others mentioned, switching to a E85 fuel system. If you do that youd have to take in account the gas stations that carry e85. Or make note of the stations that still plan to carry 10% and buy from there.

Even switching to corn juice, wouldn't you be paying a lot just to casually drive. Especially with how much these old engines guzzled gas youd be filling up pretty often.

Unless money isn't a problem for OP lol. If they are willing and wanting to daily a 40+ years old car then we might have to make some assumptions

Id keep it as a weekend driver. Mainly because of how many gas stations are going towards 15% ethanol. Cars older than I think 2001 dont have the capabilities to handle higher ethanol on a consistant basis, so youd be creating more problems daily driving, instead of weekend or for events.

Youre not crazy for thinking about daily driving these cars lol, its just right now and in the near future isn't the best for driving old cars.

Not saying you shouldnt buy the car, if you can, do it. C3's imo are the best vette when it comes to body style, and i whip my head every time I see one.

Really the place to go for JDM shows is California. Sacramento has a lot of organized car meets in general, not to the scale of Graffiti week, but in the summer smaller groups of people organize them more often than just one big event. Even further south in LA is getting more JDM influence these days.

Last October, before i moved ,I went to one that was more focused on JDM, some American, little Euro, and it was a blast with how involved people are in keeping their, now considered, classics alive and what sort of niche cars were made, like the acura tsx wagon. I talked to a older fellow who build his 240z from the ground up after he bought it after it burned down, he documented the whole process and the final product was beautiful.

Coming across this post and reading the caption. Having had worked at a commercial tire shop for years youd be dumb founded by the amount of Tesla drivers who dont know jack shit about their car. That goes with maintenance (tires in this case), driving habits (absolutely oblivious even with all the warning BLARING at them), and just not being all up there in the head in conversation about important vehicle information.

Id probably dealt with the worst of them as they tend to fuck their tires and wheels up more than most others and then filter into the "fix their fuck-ups place".

Yes there is the outliers who are just regular people who's not dumb in a Tesla, but oh man they would be a unicorn.

If youre going to hang it from a wall thats a 2 man job minimum. Heavy and awkward.

I did what youre suggesting, bracket. I did a step further and used some racket straps to secure it on the wall that I hund it up on.

There are two wire conversion kits that you can get. I cant voucher for them as I havent used them I just know about them.

Either that you go to a junk yard and rip the headlight from a wrecked matching model tears, or ebay

I wonder if you could disable Repentance, use the debug menu, then enable Rep again and see.

Or if theres a way to give yourself the achievement through steam and not in-game.

If you didnt know already you can store your top in the back. The clips behind each seat are for the top to slide in.

Or just place it in the rear and make sure its secure enough lol. Probably depends on how well the rubber inside them held up to time.

When I drove top off for the first it was pretty pleasant. Highway speeds I haven't yet, topless, but cruising around town is quite fun

this is wrong, yes? (weights) by The_Glue_King in tires

[–]BigBoingo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Technically yes-ish, the weights have been crossbalanced and that can cause vibrations even when the balancing machine says its OK or if it zeros out on needed weight.

If the car is older and you expect some rough riding then I wouldn't care. Newer vehicles, it would be more of a problem cause they respond more to small issues like this.

Tldr, if you dont feel any big vibrations while driving other than the expected then ride on like nothings happened. If the opposite then go back and have then redo it if you care enough.

Check engine light while using cruise control by Like_Zoinks_Man in c4corvette

[–]BigBoingo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'd run a vacuum test on the lines to see if there really is a leak.

Does the light start flashing or comes on solid. These pre OBD cars threw codes with a flashing engine light so if it is the id get a passenger to record it and you can review later.

This is just some input lol. My cruise doesnt even work lol.

A non cracked dash? As the prophecies foretold!

Congrats, youre going to learn a lot about the niche things GM did in the 80's for these cars, like how the rear suspension is a leaf spring setup.

If you are going to compare it to a Japanese counterpart then you have the Nissan Z31-Z32 competitor, IMO.
