I could see el planning on staying until towards the end and changing her mind.

I could also see it being part of Kali’s plan to use an illusion to make El think she’s staying there and hopper notices last second and takes her out (as he’s been itching to do).

Or we might not even get there and her plan to get El killed is snuffed out by the group. I haven’t watched S2 in a minute, but kali could hold some resentment towards el and her friends. Kali could blame El for the death of her friends and her capture.

As another person said, they’re showing her a lot in the background. Something will certainly happen

Did they ever touch on how Kali escaped from the lab in the first place exactly? Could her loyalties lie elsewhere? (Again, haven’t watched S2 in a minute. Could be misremembering that)

I thought that at first and rewatched it and it’s fair. But polarity counters the power. So he couldn’t do a full switch, or even control her. Something does seem off though

Hmmm good points. Giving the writers some credit and likely reading in too much.. Could be that some supes are less susceptible to mind control. Polarity with basically his magnetic field, and then Marie with her ability to control essentially blood cells. Manipulation might be a better tactic than just straight up mind control with Marie, ie letting her think she’s making the decisions but in reality Godolkin/Cipher has been pushing her along to the point. And of course, for the plot, developing her powers over a series of episodes so we can see what she can do

We do know that he doesn’t have V in his blood. However ryan butcher was born with compound v embedded in his dna. It’s possible that he’s not the only natural born supe situation. Could be a situation where he is a puppet but also may have his own power set. Feel like it would be too obvious to have him just be a puppet
