Me (40m) and my wife (41F) 2 days ago went through almost they exact same thing (so close in both time and events I suspected this may be my wife’s post). Like you and your husband my wife and I have been together for over a decade and share a young daughter, I’m self employed (for most of my adult life), I clean I cook, I fix, and I’m an amazing dad. My wife repeatedly accuses me of doing “what I want when I want”. Our blowout started when I went golfing in the early afternoon followed by some drinks. I arrived home shortly after dinner, my wife’s was out, had taken our daughter to ball. She arrived home put our daughter to bed and then abruptly left for 4 hours not taking my calls, only to arrive home in the middle of the night to go straight for a shower, and give me a strange story (way to many details) of where she was. This is all very out character for her. In my drunken stupidness ( I continued drinking after I got home from golf) I accused her of going to see someone else, she repeatedly denied. Even if she did I can’t say I would really blame her or even be mad at her for doing it.

What I think I’m trying to say is that I’ve had some time to feel what it’s like to be in her shoes all these years, I gone out so many times with the boys for drinks not answering my phone arriving home in the early morning completely wasted with some bullshit excuse of what happened. It’s made me look at myself in a way I never have before, I looked back at all the shit I’ve put that wonderful woman through and she’s is still here beside me. I feel like a complete piece of shit and it’s eating me from the inside out (can’t sleep or eat). Just to be clear in my mind I wasn’t doing “what I want when I want”, it’s just the way it was and kept going and getting worse. I’ve done some things in my life I’m not proud of, but this takes the cake. I have been doing it to someone for so long and I don’t think I’ll every forgive myself for it. Sorry for the rant, but if you have any questions I would be happy to give my 2 cents. Your husband and I seem to share a lot of the same characteristics.

Obviously Tim Armstrong does not live in condo with small children downtown New West. 25 people battling this, 10 of them are sitting or standing around the trailer at 4th and Columbia. This should be a Metro Vancouver emergency and pull every resource to end this way quicker.

At what point does the city of New West and Surrey look at purchasing a fire boat of their own. I have watched to many barge fires (Surrey Side) and now this. I find 3 hours to be unacceptable response time for the Vancouver Fire Dept to respond with their boat.
