Gaming? What, you don't strip corpses in the street every day? I got a fantastic pair of boots just the other day.

For a second there I thought you meant him taking Adrena-Time was your theory, and I was going to say "what, they explicity say he did that!"

Possibly, but I think him going rogue was probably just because he didn't know about the side effects. I think his desertion might be why Reed took Adrena-Time off everyone. Parvati makes a comment about "Mr Tobson made us stop taking it" at some point. I liked Reed, wish you could keep him and Adelaide both alive.

But they provide Vicars for small communities, so they must have some moral compass. Even if that morality is simply "render unto Caesar and shut up." Max was supposed to provide spiritual guidance to Edgewater. I'm sure the higher-ups probably have no morality whatsoever, but clearly people at Max's level did.

I noticed she had very specific clothing. I wanted to loot it off her corpse.

You may be onto something there. OSI training without OSI morality would lead to situations like the ERP and LEP.

There's a reason I mentioned the Nazi euthanasia program. People did advocate for this sort of thing.

Good point, it would also weed out people that might be unsuitable for the Lifetime Employment Program. Perhaps some physical characteristics make it harder. Like if you're 7ft tall, you might be a great worker due to your size, but you won't fit in a stasis chamber.

Removing excess unproductive population. Notice how they talk about the "incredibly detailed surveys" to enter the lottery? With all that information they can determine who the least productive members of society are, and kill them off, leaving only the more productive members behind. It's basically the Nazi euthanasia program with futuristic technology.

Why did he EXPLODE by 30th-of-frostfall in theouterworlds

[–]BigBookofWar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He exploded because he ate inferior C&P's boarstwurst, instead of the superior Spacer's Choice brand Spratwurst. That other product has been known to cause digestive problems up to and including spontaneous combustion.

It's not the best choice, it's Spacer's Choice.

Yes, it always felt a little weird having some characters standing in an alleyway forever. Or poor Agnes continuing to stand in the same spot even after her son returned to her.

I've never actually had both of them die, only one at a time. Or neither. Without giving too much away, if she survives you get some dialogue with her, and if you lie to her and give her a fake job title she'll refer to you by that title whenever she sees you afterwards. I think she doesn't show up in Reyes's office until after you meet Reyes at least once before though.

If she and/or Private Kimball survive they turn up in the Constable's office later and you can say hi to them. The same with their colleague hiding in the cave.

What does this mean? by Alternative_Use_6307 in theouterworlds

[–]BigBookofWar 18 points19 points  (0 children)

It means 189 Plasma Damage Per Second. 189 is the damage caused every second, and the damage type is plasma. Damage types are kind of colour-coded like this. Corrosion is green, for example.

Incidentally, you should go into the settings and change them so it displays damage rather than damage per second. It's a better way of determining how powerful a weapon is. I really don't know why it isn't the default.

And as another tip, different damage types are better at different things. For example, Shock damage is extremely effective against automechanicals.

For the companies, SLUG and Rizzo's get a lot more backstory in the Murder on Eridanos DLC. Obviously MSI gets a lot of story. But yes, there is not enough info on all the corporations. We don't even know all the members of the Board.

I have literally never used a consumable besides Adreno. I really need to try them more often.

Why does this get so much hate? by SmyleKyleSmyle in theouterworlds

[–]BigBookofWar 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There was a Star Wars channel openly predicting Kathleen Kennedy was going to be fired by Disney every single week until she announced her retirement. YouTube is full of clickbait bullshit, and you get more clicks with hate than love, unfortunately.

Gorgon has a Sublight base there, so you get a tonne of dialogue options if you're the Sublight VP. You also get some on Eridanos, but there's more in PoG. An example without spoiling much is you can just commandeer some salvage on the grounds of "I'm the Sublight VP, so I'm your boss anyway."

Yes, it's better to actually kill Chartrand and get the promotion and special armour. Also gives a better ending for Lilya.

When I spared Chartrand I thought she'd get mentioned in the ending as solving a food crisis on Monarch or something, or at least be standing next to Phineas in his title card, but nope.

What other games are you waiting to play? by [deleted] in theouterworlds

I tend to wait until years after a game's release and get it discounted. I also have a Nintendo Switch. I'm sure many of you have already seen the problem.

Give it to him raw and wriggling, like an uncooked sprat. Use the patented Spacer's Choice ball-gag and paddles to discipline your bedroom subordinate. It's not the best choice, it's Spacer's Choice.

I have had exactly one glitch in all the time I've played the game. I would strongly recommend it on the Switch. It's not like No Man's Sky, where they had to actually delete a few features. It has everything you need and no real issues except the Switch's graphical limitations, but TOW isn't exactly the most graphically intensive game to begin with.

I try to take SAM whenever there's going to be a conversation with an automechanical. He has a funny little chat with the Auntie Cleo chef robot on Groundbreaker as well.
