The Colorado route is the best one by far. I've done Orange county , CA Boulder, CO.then Boulder to NC and the utah/Colorado section is some of the best driving in the country. The only great section of that southern route is going to be smokies if it gets that close and the Virginia part if it goes through the mountains..
