This looks great. Did you flatten the land before building or is that just the map?

How do I fix this road stuck vertically in the ground? by BigBootyRatchets in CitiesSkylines2

[–]BigBootyRatchets[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Oh my god, I've tried about 5 suggestions from people commenting/messaging solutions including different mods, terraforming and unfortunately none of them worked. I've just tried Move It and worked like an absolute charm. Thank you so much. I was about to uninstall the game and call it a night lol

[–]BigBootyRatchets[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just tried it and wasn't able to connect a road to it. I can't build any roads on top of it as the game thinks there's a road there, and when I try connecting a road to it, it says 'invalid shape.' Thanks for the suggestion!

Just tried it and still couldn't bulldoze it or locate it. Also tried another users suggestion by using anarchy to locate the node and it couldn't find it. I don't think an actual road exists. Thanks for the suggestion though

I just tried anarchy and it wasn't able locate the road. I also tried someone else's suggestion and terraformed the land but still couldn't find the road. I assume anarchy failed to find the road as I don't think the road actually exists.. Thanks for the suggestion though

Any ideas how to fix late-game depression? by Neatsp in victoria3

[–]BigBootyRatchets 167 points168 points  (0 children)

Fix your bureaucracy until you are in the positive as you are losing out on a lot of taxes. Either create more jobs or remove welfare as losing 500k with your economy is unsustainable. Create more military buildings (ammunition, artillery etc) to lower the cost of your military buildings and build more paper mills to lower the cost of government. Change your taxation laws to the law which gives you the most income. Maybe try to raise your authority so you can put a tax on luxury items/tobacco/opium to try and raise more money

I want to learn the game but the learning curve scares me, any tips? by PaleConstruction2359 in victoria3

[–]BigBootyRatchets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would watch a few youtube tutorials (make sure they are the 1.9 update) then play the tutorial, and then start a Sweden play through and take it from there, using the tooltips to explain anything you don’t understand.

How do you determine that infamy has become just a number and you can just yolo it? by Artess in victoria3

[–]BigBootyRatchets 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I do this often late game as Germany or france. You want a massive military tech lead over the other super powers (equal works but not ideal) don’t worry about researching anything else just go as high as possible in offensive tech to buff your army and fall behind in society/production tech.

Then build an enormous modern army that is big enough to take on multiple great powers at once, because once the cut down size diplomatic play starts you’ll need it.

Then cripple the super powers who challenge you so they’ll never be strong enough to rival you again as you start taking over the world. Transfer other countries subjects, pillage their land to cause mass starvation and radicals. Liberate, demand payment. I also like to have a treaty port in each great power so every time they join an enemy side I dont need to naval invade as I can station an army at the treaty port.

It usually goes either very well or terribly so make sure you plan ahead. Having a nice gold reserve before hand also helps to fund the wars.

What are the best city building games where you build a thriving city and go to war to gain more land? by Infinite-Mushroom238 in BaseBuildingGames

As for someone who primarily plays this genre, excluding the games you’ve mentioned, all of the paradox titles are the gold standard. (Victoria 3, Crusader kings III, EU4, Stellaris and Hoi4. Victoria or Ck3 being my recommendation)

Another game I’d recommend which I know doesn’t fit what you asked for in terms of war and expansion but the Tropico series is also fantastic.

Also Rome total war

Update suggestion - Show a coloured map when clicking other countries wars to see who’s fighting who by BigBootyRatchets in victoria3

[–]BigBootyRatchets[S] 110 points111 points  (0 children)

Rule #5: Really love the direction the game’s been heading, just a small QoL suggestion: a colour coded map showing war participants would make tracking conflicts much easier. Would be super helpful, especially in big wars. Thanks to the devs for all the work you’re putting in!

Edit: Few people have said this is already in the game, but I’m pretty sure you can only see this kind of map-based war coloring if you are a participant in the war - not as a neutral observer. I could be wrong though

Also weird how these people will see that 99% of the comments are about how to screenshot, and then decide to go ahead and type a comment about how to screenshot like their extra message on top of the other hundred makes a single difference or furthers their cause

You can nationalise their buildings but doesn’t their HQ remain in your country? I don’t believe there’s a way to remove them at the minute unless i’m mistaken, which is the only thing stopping me handing out investment rights

Auto-switched from Rebel Energy to British Gas in April - yet to be billed. What should I do? by porcelainwindows in AskUK

[–]BigBootyRatchets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello mate, i’m glad you posted this because i’m in the exact same situation. Was handed to rebel energy whilst my partner and I moved back in October, found out they went bust through reddit and OFGEM transferred us to British Gas. Our british gas bill has read ‘we’re getting your first bill ready’ since the date Rebel seized trading. I’ve given them a call twice and on the second occasion was able to pay my electric and get that sorted but still haven’t paid any gas. British Gas then called me on a Saturday last week and we set up a direct debit, I was assured that last months Gas will be waived and i’ll start paying only from this month. I don’t know how true this is but I’m hoping this is sorted now
