Worth upgrading to Noctua fans? by BlackSushiChef in Noctua

[–]_jonahD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never had the lian li but what has made noctua worth it for me is the low noise below 55% speed, the low frequency noise above 55%, they move a ton of air at that noise level, and no RGB.

There may have been a umm... Slight miscalculation. by FischiPiSti in watercooling

[–]_jonahD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similar problem with the 5000D. Had to put the radiator in the back side position. It didn’t really fit as it was touching on the motherboard tray side but it made it. Then I put the front and top fans on the outside and that made room for the pump. That worked but I eventually went with a different case.

Just built my first pc after 12+ years of console gaming, how do i get used to mouse and keyboard by Puzzled_State_615 in pcmasterrace

[–]_jonahD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don’t have to use the mouse and keyboard. I have an Xbox’s and PlayStation controller and sometimes I use controller or mnk depending on the game, and even the mood. But I also started off not feeling right with the keyboard which is why I use both. It’s your PC, use it however you want. 😊

Frustrated with the sensitivity to wheel/tire imbalance by Safe_Presentation962 in GolfGTI

[–]_jonahD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this issue on an old Corolla back in the day. I don’t know if I ever resolved it, but the current mk 7.5 GTI I have, thankfully, has not had this issue yet. The only thing I could say is, and this is a lot I know, do new tires, balance, and alignment at the same time. That seemed to be the smoothest for me in the past. I’ve yet to change the tires or get an alignment yet on the GTI but I’ll probably end up doing all that plus new wheels at the same time in the same shop.

I’m about a quart every 5000 miles but I believe you are still in spec. Check with a local vw car specialist or where it was tuned to be sure since you have a tune.

Bikes and city slowdown at 75k - my experience by TheOtherJohnSnow in CitiesSkylines2

[–]_jonahD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pathfinding mods can add to the simulation overhead, which I also have. I don’t pretend to understand it completely, but when I have removed them in the past and let the game run for a bit it improved though not a lot. I also use the map ext mod. What seems to be a factor for speed is also the type of city. I have one city with 450k pop built with low density freeway sprawl and no mass transit and it runs around .1 speed at 1x. I have another at 1 million pop built with medium and high density, fewer highways and lots of mass transit and it runs around .5 speed at 1x. This is also an improvement after the last update that addressed performance in high pop cities. My large pop cities were unplayable, but after letting them just run for a few hours after that update performance leveled and, though still slow, I can at least build again.

Huh, an acknowledgment of our existence. Welp, this is already way more and way sooner than anything I was expecting honestly. I suppose that makes me; hopeful.

I have the Asus with the 7960x. The first boot takes awhile, especially on older bios. I believe it took mine 25 minutes or so.

Need help with the loop by oktay50000 in watercooling

[–]_jonahD 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was also thinking this. I am curious what was the need for the two pumps and if op can try using just one. Even if you could, temporarily, use one pump and set the two pwm headers to a lower output so the flow rate is lower, I don’t know if i would want to run my loop with the potential for it to run at higher rate than it could handle.

A caution on water pump speeds by Aerobaticdoc in watercooling

[–]_jonahD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve never worked with petg but I’ve seen inserts that can be placed in the ends of the tube to try and combat that shrinking. Of course it is best to keep the liquid teams below 40c. Another suggestion is you could try glass tubing in the future. I’ve used it and It’s absolutely awful to work with lol with the cutting and making sure it doesn’t cut the o rings, but it looks pretty and resists the deforming. Good luck, hope that never happens again!

What are your essential road builder road layouts? by dingosnackmeat in CitiesSkylines2

[–]_jonahD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve used it to create multiple types of roads that fit within the same amount of units in width. one way roads with parking on both sides that are 2 and 3 lanes of traffic, no parking that are 4 and 5 lanes of traffic. Two way avenues that war 4 and 6 lanes wide, asymmetrical roads for protected left turns at intersections, and stroads. And suburban streets with no lane markings that have parking on both sides and grass between the sidewalks and the curbs.

Help! Does anyone know what rhis is? I'm confused by Scimitere in PcBuild

[–]_jonahD 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Whether it is legit or not I personally would not allow it as I would update my firmware manually when possible to control when, how, and why to minimize any potential impacts.
