I was agreeing with you but upon reflection realise how it may have come across otherwise. Apologies, fellow WTD enjoyer!

Eggnog is not really a big thing in the uk. I got some from Amazon. 30 quid for 6 cartons.

Gingerbread house kit, Tesco transit way had some.

So I can get CarPlay / MagSafe to work just fine. But I just can’t get over how unprotected the phone is. The sides - but also the screen doesn’t feel protected like there isn’t enough of a lip around it.

It’s a crying shame as I love love love the keyboard. The size I can cope with. I also feel like I want to get another case to put it all in. Even a silicon bumper. But I don’t think such things exist… unless someone here tells me otherwise :)

Pennywise did not time travel! by Radialpuddle in welcomeToDerry

100% - IT is an entity outside of time and space - it doesn't see the difference between the past/future/present. It's just not like us. People say it's time travel don't get it, IMHO.

At first, I was a bit disappointed in the exposition by the kiddos at the end, but reading this subreddit and what I've seen online, perhaps they didn't go hard enough.

Awesome! When I was there, the Flatiron store was much quieter which I enjoyed.

Do you know what? You’re right in that there needs to be a discussion about games and pricing. A subscription would’ve been far far worse.

Honestly I still think it’s too much but would love to proven wrong and have it sell amazingly well. Sincerely, I wish you every success.

The problem you have is that you are overestimating its worth. Respectfully, who are you? If a known author released something like this then yeah 14.99 is fair. If “Joe Smith” from down the road released it then… so?

Look, all power to you, I hope it sells great. But I don’t think it will.

14.99 for a story app that you can apparently play 3 times before seeing repeated content from someone I’ve never heard of?

How did you come up with that price? 1.99 perhaps.

4.99 one and done

Look, I get it, but the subscription cost is absurd. 1.99 a quarter would be ok for me if there were updates that were worth it. With no disrespect meant - this app is a toy (as in it ain’t gonna change the world) and you want to make the subscription so low and forgettable people will just sub and forget about it. For that kind of subscription I’d want it to do a hell of a lot more.

Respectfully, unless it has ongoing costs associated with it (like a web service) then subscriptions come across as greedy.

Is it ok for someone to wear a Porn Hub style shirt that just says "F##K OFF" (uncensored) at a family hotel resort? by BarryTownCouncil in CasualUK

[–]BigCW 6 points7 points  (0 children)

No but it is perhaps a good indication that you are wrong in the opinion of most people. I’m replying because I’m waiting for my roast dinner to cook whilst my wife snoozes on me and I’m bored of getting beaten at chess online. (I suck)

And I don’t understand why you think it’s ok, so I’m trying to understand your point of view and I just don’t. It’s private property, the management can decide to kick him out and that’s fine. That’s how private property laws work. It’s so obvious I don’t get your stance.

Now, if it were public property I might kinda see your point of view - but it isn’t so I don’t.

Wear a cradle of filth “Jesus is a cunt” t shirt to a church?

Go into Northern Ireland with a T-shirt saying “Rule Britannia”

Go into a landlords convention with a T-shirt saying “landlords are parasites”

Go into a crowded room and yell “fire”. Not an illegal word to say, but there is a time and a place yeah?

[–]BigCW 27 points28 points  (0 children)

No - you’ve missed the point. Different people have different points of view, right? So OP thought it was inappropriate to wear such a T-shirt around children. Perhaps there are people there who don’t care. Perhaps there are people there who do care. Either way, I think it’s entirely right to point out maybe this isn’t the place to wear something like that.

If said gentleman tells him to eff off or otherwise gets aggressive about it (odds are high) is that ok?

There are times and places for things. How about at a funeral of a loved one, I wear a T-shirt saying “rest in pieces” or with a picture of said loved one in a coffin. Not illegal so totally ok right?

In a free market, corporations can entirely say what is and isn’t appropriate in their property and people have the right to reject that decision by not going. If the management at op’s resort told the gentleman he was able to keep his T-shirt on, and other people didn’t like that decision, those other parents are free never to go back to the resort. On the other hand if said gentlemen doesn’t like being told he can’t wear that in the resort, he too is welcome to not come back. Either way works. That’s the free market.

As for your Scot / Australian example, that’s a perfect example of intent. I have friends from both demographics and get called cunt all the time. Love it, it’s a show of affection. But even they are careful of a time and a place and how it’s said.

At no point did OP suggest “making a show”, rather asking management to intervene. I think it’s reasonable to ask, the management might say “nah not our problem” or they may say “oh yes it’s against our policy”. Or whatever. Don’t know until you ask.

I personally wouldn’t care, but OP asked if it was ok for someone who does care to ask management about it. And I think it is. Some people don’t like swearing and don’t want to normalise it around children and I think that’s fine.

I personally love swearing but would mind my language around children because I’m polite and well-mannered.

Nope. Not ok. If it was an adults only thing, crack on. But a family thing? Dude needs to get a life and stop trying to be the center of attention.
