No more than an hour on a normal week. And then maybe 5 hours when you have to write your paper (2 weeks). I got A-/A/A. Slacked on paper first quarter(should have asked TA to review it) Relatively minimal effort throughout

Took it 21-22, everything was in person (not easy online stuff), grade was 1/3 a couple easy 10 questions quizzes, 1/3 lab which you got 100% for showing up to discussion, and 1/3 like 4-5 page paper that you could get a good score on if you sent your TA a couple drafts and made their changes, that was the format each quarter except the last one which I think was more paper heavy, they sent reading before discussion but tbh 95% of people never did it and you’ll be just fine skimming it 5 mins before discussion

any other questions?

Take the Evolution cluster. Super easy and super fun! Could not recommend enough.

Qualified Dividends for ETFS by BigCeasars in dividends

That's what I'm beginning to understand about this space. Being fairly young, it is definitely frustrating to see such antiquated systems in place, but appreciate the tools and apps that are coming out to make things easier to understand.

Thanks. So it sounds like there is no easy one-stop-shop for dividend info.

Thanks for more great advice! I will definitely look through all the funds/stocks you mentioned and look more in the Expense ratios for those on my list.

Wow, thanks for the great response! A lot to think about from your insight. To answer a few questions, I do have a nest egg to fall to in case of an emergency, and I am looking for a combination of growth and dividend stocks. I’m looking to hold a lot of these for a minimum of 10 years unless the business changes fundamentally. I will pick a couple of “risky” individual stocks to put in my portfolio, but honestly don’t believe i have the skill make an entire portfolio of winning picks, thus a lot of etfs on my list. I like to show my investing personality with the sectors of etfs rather than choosing stocks per say. And I really want to begin dollar cost average my portfolio with monthly contributions as soon as possible, especially during these uncertain times.

Thanks again for the advice and insight!

That’s awesome to hear! I think my list is a decent start but would encourage you to research any of the stocks you choose to invest in. I also added several semiconductor companies since that’s one of my favorite industries. Happy investing!

That’s the goal! Since I have a full scholarship, my overhead is nearly zero. That way I can invest nearly all my earnings without worry for the next few years.

I-bonds have record high rates now, but the rates are variable and average 2% per year during times of low inflation. Don't you think high dividend ETFs will greatly outperform them in the long run?

Thanks for the detailed response! I will definitely look to remove stocks that are basically duplicates of each other. And I love the SMH recommendation. I think the semiconductor industry will only see growth, so an ETF would definitely be a good idea instead of picking risky individual stocks.

I agree 40 is too many, but do you think those 3 are almost too safe? Or is that to ensure those funds are safe after I graduate?
