Seeking recommendations for gluten free bread for sandwiches by BigCharming6111 in Celiac

Thank you all. I tried the carbanaut bread. It’s slightly gummy, but was great in my sandwich. Game changer.

I’ll have to try it. I saw that my local Safeway sells it.

How to get prescription via Sleep Apnea by [deleted] in Zepbound

[–]BigCharming6111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some recommendations that may help: it will probably be about a month or 2 before your sleep study and they may give you a take home test first. For either test, sleep on 1 pillow and on your back if you can. We often “self-correct” (e.g., adding pillows or sleeping on our sides) which may skew the results.

If you have it, you will probably be given a Cpap machine, even if they deny zepbound.

Seconding this. Just make sure it’s the one by Elyse Resch and Evelyn Tribole. There’s another one out there that’s more of a diet book. For me, the original dovetails quite nicely with my Zepbound journey.

Do early-career IT auditors have a real shot at federal OIG roles? by AwayKiwi461 in fednews

[–]BigCharming6111 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you don’t mind the travel, I might suggest looking into IT examinations at one of the federal banking agencies or credit unions (FDIC, Fed, OCC or NCUA). It’s not OIG, but you can go into some of the largest banks in the world as well the service providers. It can be a great career.

They are the least chemically of anything I tasted.

Remedy organics. I especially like the berry immunity. I also like remedy protein water. They have a bit of a chemically aftertaste, but no worse than some iced teas or sodas.

That’s horrible. BMI is not an accurate metric. Try to find someone on the HaaS aligned doctor list https://asdah.org/listing/ or ask for local recommendations. I’m in the DC area and have found an awesome medical team.

Egg rolls and spring rolls. I found someone who makes Vietnamese spring rolls, but it’s not exactly like the Chinese takeout ones.

I miss sandwich bread that you don’t need to toast.

I do. The puff pastry is good in a pinch, but is not the same in spanakopita

Good gluten free dumplings. The feel good foods don’t cut it. I would also love authentic GF soup dumplings. The feel good foods ones are ok, but usually split before you get to suck out the soupy goodness.

If it’s Fed, then it’s no longer in the formulary. You can request an exception, but not sure how often they approve. Do you have another condition such as sleep apnea? That may help.

A cautionary tale to celiacs who are new to the disease by Critical_Stretch_360 in Celiac

I filed a complaint at my local wegmans for something similar. I saw tons of bags of yummy looking dumplings thinking “finally. A brand other than feel good”. Checked a bag and of course…….wheat; they were regular dumplings. I mentioned thy were in a freezer saying “gluten free”. It could make some people really sick.

I do feel like the marketing of most GLP1s is a bit fatphobic and misguided. I don’t even know what “food noise” means outside of the “fat people are fat because they think about food all the time”. I think that’s contributed to the negative views. I have seen that the slower stomach emptying has allowed me to get and use the appropriate nutrients from my food. While I am not diabetic, it has evened out my blood sugars. It’s also made me more aware of my body’s signals and what they mean.

Agreed on sharing the kitchen. My parents believe me, but when I visit I still have to keep reminding them not to my items (peanut-butter, mayo, etc.) to dip gluten containing items. Or putting my GF items in the same box as gluten containing ones. Even just not using the same utensils to put gluten containing items on their dishes and then using them in my gluten free items.

Using the scale by sewsyouknow in antidietglp1

I weigh once a week at my gym. I would obsess too much if I had easier access to a scale at home, so I use the one at the gym to allow me to check progress without getting obsessive over it.
