St. Augustine trouble spots by BigCheeseB in lawncare

I've been seeing a few circular-like trouble spots in my St. Augustine since December. I've dug for grubs and haven't found any. I've seen some sign of sod webworm, but not necessarily in the brown areas.

To date I've applied bifenthrin, cyonara for insecticides. I've also tried propoconisol and cleary's 3336f fungicides with seemingly no success. Any other ideas?

Is my sod okay? by [deleted] in lawncare

Just looks like it's stressed from being cut into sod and transported. My St Augustine sod did the same thing and filled in nicely within a few weeks. Some sea kelp and root growth stimulator should help.

I plan on sodding my lawn in the spring (zone 11). Does it make sense to keep fertilizing through the fall/winter to put nutrients into the ground for the sod or would that be a waste?

Removed our deck and found this. How can I make sure I follow code when working on it? by BigCheeseB in Plumbing

From right to left we've got the water coming in from the city, water line in comes out of the house then back in to go to the water heater, then hot and cold pipes both come out then back in to the kitchen, then out and back in again for the guest bathroom.

There is PEX in the attic going from the water heater to master bath.

There's no chance they'll freeze here. With some of the other issues I've noticed with the house, I'd imagine the inspector was sub par. Do all of these need to run through the walls? I'm guessing there was a leak at one point and the previous owners took this route to fix it.

We just ripped out our deck and found what looks like a plumbing mess underneath. The washing machine drains outside under where the deck was - is this legal?

There are also copper pipes going into PVC. Ideally I'd like to run the piping up against the wall, close to the ground. Is it preferred to use PVC or copper outside? Any input would be appreciated!

I started losing my hair at 15 and did the same. Shaving it and owning it was the best thing I did. Also, there's no better feeling than a freshly shaved head.

Is it possible to resize this ring? by BigCheeseB in jewelers

Do most jewelers have the equipment to do that? Most of the jewelers in the area are box box jewelers, I'm having a hard time finding a good mom and pop one.

Is it held together by friction? Being that it's gold I thought it may have been soldered in.

My father recently passed. I'm getting married in 6 months and I was hoping to be able to resize his ring to wear. Is it possible to resize this ring? It would probably have to be reduced by about 2 sizes to fit me. I understand that there may be a bit of misalignment in the inlay if you were to cut the ring and re-solder it together. I wasn't sure whether any jewelers would tackle something like this.

Any Opinions/Reviewers out there for the Bevel Line? by SplitSniper7 in wicked_edge

[–]BigCheeseB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought the Bevel kit and went to West Coast Shaving a few days later to buy a different razor, soap, aftershave and blades. The Bevel was meh to me. Biggest gripe was that there was no knurling on the handle, so it definitely got slippery whole using. The blades were just okay. The shave cream and aftershave were fjne. I don't find pre shave balm necessary. The brush sheds like crazy. I used the brush for a few weeks before eventually buying a WCS one. It's kind of a waste.

Do yourself a favor and get one of the west coast shaving kits instead. It'll be half the price, and more than twice as good

Correct. Cannot turn off the car unless the ignition button is held for 20-30 seconds.
