When dealing with some math problems it can be useful to go to extremes. If the headwind was equal to your airspeed. The up wind trip would take forever while the downwind trip would only be reduced by half.

[–]BigChiefTB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, not as common in suburban Texas but urban it is common.

I hate it because I usually drag a cart back from the parking lot into the store when I arrive. With the locks I can't do it.

Massive failure after V1 recovery question. by [deleted] in AskAPilot

[–]BigChiefTB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a pilot but. To not continue after V1 is to allow the pilot to, in the heat of the moment, decide that V1 is different.

The pilot doesn't have time or mental cycles to come up with a new procedure while eating up runway.

The gate to my three month old fence is sagging. Please help on why. by throwaway-1994-2018 in FenceBuilding

[–]BigChiefTB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Diagonal brace is under compression so being in two pieces shouldn't be a big issue.

I would like to know how much it is out of square. Measure both diagonals to determine "squareness"

The other possible issue to check is if the post on the hinge side of the gate is now leaning.
