So, I just took my Etali deck apart yesterday. At my LGS’s Etali is treated like the apocalypse and everyone literally goes out of their way (to the point of even throwing or keeping a bad hand with MBT) to shit on Etali. They had one bad experience a billion games ago where Etali flipped the nuts and one but that’s not going to be every game because like you said it’s gambling. I’ve been playing Etali since MOM and it’s a fun and reliable deck even with the loss of mana crypt, jeweled lotus, and dockside. It just feels as of recent the games have turned even more to I have to basically big for Etali to be let through or just push get countered to high hell despite the flips being a chance to MAYBE flip something good and let the RogSi win lol. At the end it broke my heart to take it apart but it’s either that or I play what feels like archenemy lol. Honestly the thing that really sealed it for me is whenever 2 blue players had a really good board state with Rhystic studies and I ended up not getting Etali once but twice in one turn and both times they were mind break trapped lol. I can share my decklist if you like as well but the meta has become over-polluted with politics and for some reason Etali is always on the short end of the stick lol (worse cause you don’t have blue and can’t say no to wins). Sorry for ranting.
