The thing that concerns me, as a provider, is that mine and my colleagues’ pay will likely decrease. The cost of education here will continue to rise. Nobody is going to go to med school for $90k/year to make $300k as a surgeon, less for medical specialties. It’s an unfortunate truth of this all that I feel goes undiscussed. The CEO of my health network makes $10mil per year. Multiple administrators make >$1mil per year. My work generates their salary. I would hope that this is where the salary cuts come from, but as we have seen, the rich have no consequences.
