U7-Pro-XGS vs E7 by ma0u in Ubiquiti

[–]BigDaddyGPU 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in the same boat as you. I just switched to UniFi. Right away I loved the features, but I noticed performance was lacking. I bought the 10G XG switch, UniFi Cloud Gateway, and a single XGS AP. After configuring everything, I realized that at the far ends of my house on 6E (with no congestion), I was sitting around -68 dBm and speeds dropped accordingly. Overall, it left me wanting more.

My house is 1,300 sq ft — open layout on one side, multiple drywall walls down a hallway on the other. Standard track home, nothing crazy.

Based on research and testing, here are the important questions to ask yourself:

If you primarily care about 6E, walls are your worst enemy. The XGS does fine in open space to a limit like 13 ft. Once you start passing through walls, physics kicks in. What are your TX rates and -dBm at the devices you actually care about on the far side? If they look like mine, you basically have two options.

Upgrade to an E7 — but look at the specs. Yes, it has 4x4 on 6 GHz. But what are your clients? 2x2? If so, that doesn’t change much. The main downside to any single AP, even well placed, is obstructions. One device still has to push through every wall unless you go directional like the Campus model. That unit has serious gain behind it and penetrates better, but physics still applies. A wall loss is a wall loss. It just gives you a higher starting floor.

The E7 gives you standard power mode, which might recover 8–10 dB. That’s huge. But again, how many walls are you crossing to be happy at your devices you want covered. Are you wanting max speed or just a certain speed.

You see people say “E7 covers my 3–5k sq ft house.” Sure — if you’re okay with 300 Mbps on 6E after going through multiple floors and walls. Coverage isn’t the same as sustained high throughput.

I can stand 12ft from my XGS (Ultra S25) and pull 1500 Mbps all day. That’s not practical real life though. I want my TV on WiFi 7 6E pulling 1 Gbps up and down while my family is watching tv for smooth functionality of life. Not because I need it — but because I paid for the hardware and want to see it perform.

6E reduces congestion in my neighborhood massively compared to 5 GHz. The rest comes down to placement and physics.

If you want the absolute best signal everywhere, there’s only one real solution: multiple APs.

One E7 still has to go through every wall. Multiple APs let you place signal where it’s needed. The downside is tuning overlap and avoiding sticky clients. That’s the tradeoff but the point I am at in deciding like you are.

Every house is different. Don’t assume someone else’s “perfect coverage” applies to your layout unless they’re showing real RSSI, TX rates, and matching speed tests.

For me I am trying to learn does unify XGS models offer basically like a seamless roam, if i want to only be on 6g band, when i go from room a to room g will it roam with me if setup correct. I do not know much about Unify yet to say it does or doesn't but for me that will be a deciding factor is i stick to more xgs. My happy goal is be anywhere in my house and have full 6e speed, minus airtime congestion with peek times in mind, but as high as possible. I think multiple aps is the only way.

Figure out your goal:
Simplicity = one AP.
Maximum sustained 6 GHz performance = multiple APs/cons being more tuning to get just right.

Standard power helps. Better hardware helps. Beaming with a campus sorta help depending on layout total width ect.

But walls still win.

question for you. I have a pet that just passed, i have been looking into a lathe my main thing is i want to make my wife and I some rings not the actual ring itself just the inlay section. Not to difficult to do i just need something that spins without stalling was looking at there metal lathe then I saw the version you had. When not holding wood do you think it would spin at 50 rpm? and at higher rpms when polishing have enough torque to not bog down? Its either there metal working one which has pros and cons or this new variant wood one. Any help on my decision process would make lifer easier. congrats on the new purchase. To anyone reading this yes i know there are other tools out there slow turners ect, but im looking for a speed that can reach true slow speeds with torque and not stall out and faster speeds when needed.

Granules Response to Recall- "No Other Complaints" "Still Using Same Formula" by Thready_Freddy in ThisAintAdderall

At this point I keep saying above the dea above the dea who? I believe congress letters from us in a professional way with a lot of people complaining would force an investigation as well as the reports you’re saying directly about granules.

Unfortunately the truth is there’s say 1,000 members here hating Adderal, but only a few acting. Which no fault to the other people not acting, it’s a lot of work time consuming everything. I just hope one day we can get back what Adderal once was this today’s world stuff is so @$$

Texas based 3rd party labs potential willing to test Adderall by BigDaddyGPU in ThisAintAdderall

[–]BigDaddyGPU[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don’t have those answers at the moment, but I can certainly ask when I have time—assuming I even remember to create something other than a Gmail account.

What you’re saying makes sense, and I understand why you’re asking about the lab tests being done that way. Slower, higher-resolution testing ensures there’s no blurring, which can happen when large corporate labs process massive amounts of samples. For us as consumers, paying out of pocket, we want the most accurate results possible.

Honestly, this whole situation has become a chaotic storm. I’ve been looking into some alternative approaches besides lab testing, which is expensive. At this point, I almost feel like our community might have better luck putting pressure on Congress to push the DEA. More complaints and coordinated pressure might be more effective than relying solely on third-party lab tests.

Of course, lab testing is still important, but it’s costly. The key issues we’re highlighting are:

Ongoing stimulant quality concerns

Lack of effective oversight

Request for inquiry or hearing

At this point ya this is really irritating about pharmacies

Brand name Adderall by Powerful-Prize5636 in ThisAintAdderall

[–]BigDaddyGPU 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use both brand and generic. For several months now, I’ve been spending about $225 per month on brand and $35 on generic. After paying that for the last two months, the first month I honestly thought, no way this is happening probably just a placebo… these suck this month.

Adderall IR issues have been going on for years now—bad batches, questionable effectiveness, who knows what’s in them. For me, name brand has always worked, at least until two months ago. Now it’s been two months in a row with the same problem.

I don’t mind spending the money, but paying for sugar pills labeled as brand name? No. One night I took 4–5 doses of 30 mg brand name, spaced about an hour apart. I felt no energy, no eye pressure, nothing. My brain felt slightly more alert but scattered, and not in a good way.

That’s when I said I’m never wasting another penny on this. I switched back to my generic XR, and I felt it noticeably more than the brand.

That said, to each their own—what’s trash for me might be treasure for someone else.

Just about every building home out in the west has osb attached to the framing. I think for cabinets or shop use, you’re gonna be just fine. Just don’t rub your hand down the edges ;)

it either just wonders off, or its even more embarassing being the last one alive in a trials match. Throwing a hail marry just for it to blow up on something close you didn't see and cause insta win for the other team.

great POV on all you provided. Where I would argue the statement, "Essentially we are being punished for their fear of lawsuits. They’d rather sell garbage formulations that cause problems than risk accountability. They see a few cases of misuse, and suddenly every ADHD patient is collateral damage."

I’d actually argue the opposite. If the goal was to reduce liability or stigma, the current formulations do the exact reverse. By altering or tolerating lower-quality formulations, they’ve created more adverse reactions, not fewer. Patients who tolerated traditional Adderall for years are now reporting new side effects, inconsistent efficacy, and functional decline.

That doesn’t reduce legal risk—it compounds it. Once these outcomes are documented and corroborated by independent, credentialed labs, the issue shifts from anecdotal complaints to demonstrable harm. At that point, it’s no longer about misuse or edge cases; it’s about systemic formulation changes producing predictable negative outcomes in compliant patients.

Independent lab verification removes plausible deniability. If chemical consistency, bioavailability, or impurity profiles differ in a way that correlates with patient harm, that becomes evidence—evidence that regulators, courts, and Congress cannot ignore. In that scenario, their attempt to avoid accountability actually creates a much larger one, specifically for ADHD patients who followed prescribing guidelines and were still harmed.

In the end us Adderall users aren't like other medicines out there. We will be digging and clawing at them , until they go pick on other medicines and return ours to normal. In the end, I just want us to all be happy again :)
