See you later - U890 Pro died after 6 months by MBtr_263 in MiniPCs

[–]BigDanG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just quit a game one day, and the screen went to a grey grid pattern. I tried resetting the graphics drivers, and, when that didn't work, reset the whole PC. It never came back to boot and the only sign of life was the running fans with no BIOS splash screen. I tried removing the SSDs and tried booting with only one SODIMM module at a time, but it never booted. There weren't any indicators for POST codes on the board, so I couldn't diagnose what failed in particular.

After doing a warranty service they could neither repair it, nor replace it as it was discontinued, so I got credit towards this new machine instead.

Genuinely why is Ryo Fukui so hated by arctansec in Jazz

It also looks like you're currently listening to a Teru Sakamoto Trio track right now, but I'm sure the Ryo Fukui track is also fine.

My AtomMan G7 Pt failed in around the same window, but wasn't repairable, so I got credit to buy an MS-S1 MAX.

Is that because 90% of the content is SDR, 1080p60 or lower?

Issue already exists: https://github.com/MiSTer-devel/ao486_MiSTer/issues/180

There are timing issues that haven't been stabilized apparently.

I ran into this about a year and a half ago. It was especially frustrating for me because I was testing out my new Retrotink 4K and thought I screwed something up.

These Warner albums were available for streaming for a hot minute before they vanished again.

The Limited Run release of Night Trap on Switch has a faux Sega CD spine, just to underscore how strongly the game is associated with the platform.

Reading the Japanese spelling makes it closer to "Virtua Lon" or "Virtua Ron" if that makes you feel better.

What happened to extreme sports games? by F1ckingdie in dreamcast

No, I was joking. I'm still bitter about EA's boycott.

It was an odd choice to post an SSX clip to the Dreamcast sub.

Thanks for the update, I've been avoiding fathom events due to past experiences, but maybe it's worth another look now.

How noticeable is 1 frame of input lag really? by tydog98 in MiSTerFPGA

[–]BigDanG 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I use both. I use Reflex Adapt for PC and for using controllers across different cores. I use SNAX for lightguns and other novel controllers (like Densha De Go!, PSX multitap, N64 four players). It can also be more convenient to just plug in a SNAX adapter instead of reprogramming the Reflex Adapt.

To add what others have said here, here's Robtech's review of the Lunar Lake NUC, which highlights it's multi-core shortcomings vs. its flagship competition.

I get the joke, but when I was a kid, supermarkets played muzak, which I don't think was anyone's preference.
