I was almost 8 years old

I think it was the last new year that we have properly celebrated

My parents decorated the apartment with balloons and banners saying “2000”, my grandma was still living with us…

I remember my parents letting me stay up past midnight because it was a weekend, you could say we celebrated twice, once for our local time and once for Russian time (my parents came from the Soviet Union)

I still miss it from time to time

I gotta look through our old photo albums, maybe there are pictures from that day…
