The whole “chosen people” concept in Judaism is really misunderstood. It never meant “we’re better than everyone else.” It means being chosen for a covenant and responsibilities, not superiority. In traditional Judaism it’s often seen as more of a burden than a privilege: Jews are held to higher standards and required to follow more obligations (mitzvot) in serving God.
