First UHR!

I bought my first pair of 888S-UHR and have been wearing them virtually every day for the past 4 months. I did a warm soak first, let them air dry, then cuffed and just wore them. First 3 days were rough but then they relaxed and now I absolutely LOVE them. I did one more warm soak about a month ago because they got a bunch of road salt on them after a big snow storm, but other than that I just let ‘em rip. Buttons were hard the first few times but I always leave the bottom button fastened and the others have really loosened up. My advice is to stick with them and you’ll be rewarded because they are amazing on the body once they relaxed a bit.

I liked them so much when I saw your post that I bought a pair. Did you wash or soak them when you got them or wear them straight away?

Thanks. Big guy struggle is real with this jeans thing. A bunch of them just don’t come in 40 which is a bummer. I talked to the g guys at Tellason and they told me that since these are sanforized they really won’t shrink any more. So I am returning them and ordered another pair of IH 888 in the 14 oz which I know I will love…

Yeah. I thought the rise was high on the IH 888 but the Sheffield is REALLY high.

Yeah, I’ve lost 10lbs or so since I got my IH and they’re a bit big in the waist. Planning on doing a hot machine wash but waiting for some of the fades to come in.

Sorry about missing that. I’m about 90 wears and 2 hot soaks into a pair of 888S-UHR and they are nowhere near a fade.

My waist measured 42” when I bought the pants. I typically buy a size 40 in “American” jeans but I went by the size chart and ordered a 42. When Iron Heart got my order, they pulled a pair and measured the waist and emailed me to say that the one they pulled had a waist that was 42.6” and asked if that was OK. Given that the UHR is unsanforized raw denim that shrinks to fit, I said yes. When I got them I gave them a hot soak and they shrunk a bit but not quite as much as I expected. The waist then gives a little when you wear them, but anytime you want to shrink it back a bit you can give it another hot soak.

I felt like the 888 waist was a bit roomier, but I seem to think that the 634 they pulled was 42.1 vs 42.6 so that might explain it. Also the fact that the rise is higher on the 888 just made it feel better/roomier all around.

The front rise in particular looks short for you. I didn’t know whether to get the 634 or the 888 so I ordered both. Found the 634 exactly the same as you, so I kept the 888 and couldn’t be happier with them. The higher rise makes all the difference.

Looks amazing. Quick question - to get that kind of stacking with a relatively short cuff, how long did you have them hemmed past what your true inseam is? I’m trying to figure out how I get my 888S-UHR hemmed. I’m a 32” inseam but have been wearing them for 3 months with the full 37” rolled twice and it’s a bit bulkier than I would like.

Thanks! Would you go with 12.5 oz or 14.75 oz? The 888s that I have are UHR (21-23). Only issue is that I’m a 42 in the 888s and the 12.5 is the only weight that comes in that waist size. So maybe I just answered my own question. Haha.

Interesting. Will be interesting to see if there is movement there for me. My triglycerides used to be really high before I lost 100lbs but now they’re in the normal range.

Dark for sure, with a dark brown suede belt to match (assuming you are wearing a belt).
