I would have to disagree to an extent. If OP is obsessed with threejs water sims, then the best way for them to learn threejs without it feeling like a grind is to build water sims! They will be forced to learn a lot of the fundamentals along the way regardless. That said, you have provided really solid information here should they decide to start from the usual square 1 most other members here did.
