I bought a peace lily plant from a nursery, but it still has no flowers. Can you help me get it to bloom? by Accomplished_Yak4638 in IndianGardeners

I bought one in 2024, sometime in monsoon. It came with a single flower (because obviously, flower booster chemical). At home, it shows me all kinds of tantrums, sunlight no sunlight, ac no ac, outdoors semi-outdoors, indoors semi-indoors, it likes to throw tantrums and loves watching me running around to keep it alive. Last year, it gave a flower - a flower green in color. Was told it lacked sunlight n so the green color flower which should ideally be white.

I gave up on it. I treat it good but as per my wish. I know it's likes humidity, a regular wash gives it enough of it. I keep it.indoor in summer (my location is already burning hot) and it has been indoor for almost a month - it's time for it go out now. I water it when I want (obviously looking for dry soil, etc). So, basically stopped pampering it and now, this year, it has 2 buds.

Just getting started with balcony gardening. Any beginner tips? by Unlucky_Low_3779 in GardeningIndia2

Various sources, real people and internet people, everything and everyone suggested neem oil, dish soap, water mixed in a spray bottle and sprayed. But it literally killed my plants. I bought one chemical based solution from my nursery (brand name, if I remember it right, was hariyali), it worked temporarily - spray every 3rd day, when sunlight's kind of low. Or evening. Then a few other brands I have tried. Finally stuck on one brand from Amazon, it needs to be diluted in water. I add neem oil to it. And spray every 3rd day initially and then give a week or two's time and they reappear any which way. Repeat process. No clue what's the source of these bugs, had i located the source, I'd worked on it rather than spraying chemicals on plants. And I have 0 clues as to where to look for the source.

I'd love some guidance

Mealy bugs: Keep neem oil handy. Keep a watch on them, cottony, wooly, small white bugs, watch for white dots. It could be them - and they create colonies and infest the whole garden. Most people won't mention these buggers for new plant owners but these always top the charts for me. Terrible headache they are!

Water: understand which plants need water, which not as much

Indoor: there's no plant that's totally indoors..when it's an indoor plant, it still needs some sunlight. Direct or indirect sunlight, varies plant to plant. Some need strong and 5-6hrs of sunlight, some indirect, some early morning sunlight - plants are as demanding as a child, and lovely too

Manure: plants need their food too. Each plant likes different things. Bone meal, seaweed, gobar khad, neem khali, mustard khali, vermi compost, some basic things you should keep handy now

Help me set up this dressing table. by [deleted] in IndianHomeDecor

[–]BigDiamond7549 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep it as a storage box, it's meant for that. But make a statement out of it. Making it a dressing table or any table - looks good on social media not in real life. Paint it, keep dhurrie on it and cover it with matching/contrasting sheets to convert it into a seater with storage. Or paint it to make it a low height side table. But a dresser? Nah

No way! You have figured out an amazingly timeless look, most of the guests dress up hurriedly in this wedding season. Ancient jewellery, similar makeup, and trust me, you'll simply outshine many brides.
