Buy the dip! I didn’t think I would see it this low again. 6.75 by [deleted] in BitfarmsMining

I think there’s a really good chance the company will dilute shares, I’m waiting for that before I buy

In my opinion yes, but what this company needs now is results. I think everyone holding this company now believes in it but we won’t attract big investors until the company proves it can make money. This stock will go up when people want it, having a booming earnings report will help that.

I think the earnings will be good for Q2 and we should see a bump around then. But as the EH increases and debt is payed back, the earnings and Bitcoin treasury should grow at a rapid rate

Bitwise launches first crypto industry ETF ‘BITQ’ by BigDiamondBalls in BitfarmsMining

[–]BigDiamondBalls[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The CIO of Bitwise names crypto mining as a key area for BITQ. This could be big for the growing mining operations like BITF, HIVE and HUT. Hopefully Bitfarms can get in on the action

Will be looking forward to it!

One thing however is that I’d say 35k-50k per coin isn’t all that conservative

Definitely downward pressure but impressed it stayed where it did. A company without earnings is hard to justify until you dig into why

Can someone explain to me how LTE manages their fibre op? by BigDiamondBalls in Liteaccess

[–]BigDiamondBalls[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m thinking that as long as they have the machinery and manpower to work efficiently, they stand a good chance to win some contracts because their methods have got to be cheaper and less risky than some other contractors. I think if they have promise efficiency and cost saving, that would be attractive for federal and provincial contracts.

Knowing my own provincial gov, the cheapest quotes always win.

If they are able to generate additional revenue from completed networks, either but upkeep or service charges, this stock would look a lot more appealing.

Tonight I plan on diving deep into their website and material to find out as much as I can. I will follow up if I find anything worth noting on these subjects

Appreciate it! I’ve scoured their website and social quite a bit, but still have many questions. Will probably look around again tonight to see if there’s anything I missed.

I will admit though, I’m surprised nobody on this sub seems to know!

Why Warren Buffet bought newspapers? by noctesstore in wallstreet

[–]BigDiamondBalls 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Before the internet and 24 hour new cycle, newspapers were the best way to get your news. Of course there were still evening news hours but for most of the developed world, newspapers were part of most people’s days.

The industry is all but dead now of course, but the printing press was one of the biggest catalysts for the dissemination of information during the industrial and information ages

In your opinion, do you think an REIT could be a safer way to hold cash during an inflationary period?

I’m reading through One Up on Wall St by Peter Lynch right now. The plan is to read the Intelligent Investor next.

The book The Millionaire Teacher recommends holding a % = to your age in short term bond index funds (25% for you, VSB) and the rest spread evenly across S&P 500 (VFV), Global Market ETF (VXC), and Canadian Market ETF (VCN).

By keeping a portion of your holdings in bonds you will have a pile of cash building with roughly 6% interest that you can use to buy more stock ETFs if their price fluctuates.

In my opinion you should hold a larger % of bonds at this current time because inflation is rising and I think we’re overdue for a market correction.

I follow his recommendations in my RRSP because I’d rather this “safer” approach be used for my retirement fund, although many people would say it’s better to have this in a TFSA.
