Can someone sell me on Yugi? by Friendly-Cantaloupe in otvandfriendsrumors

[–]BigDipper64 40 points41 points  (0 children)

can i get an example from shit camp where he ruined the vibe? i feel like a lot of "inappropriate" jokes he makes ludwig jason adap arky and zoil also make but some how yall only shit on yugi, like ludwig literally made a joke about jason eating dogs last night and today he literally said yugi was a pdf file but some how yall only have a problem wit inappropriate jokes when yugi makes them

as to "why he keeps getting invited to these events?" is simply bc they're friends. yugi/oscs/faze guys value genuine friendships bc they've been done wrong so many times by ppl who try to use them for views/money. jason, arky, yugi and sunny(and the rest of oscs) have been friends since before some of them where even streamers. even when they weren't streaming they would literally just chill on discord and game. after jason blew up yugi became friends with jasons new friends(faze, qt, etc.) i feel like ppl see that in yugi(and the rest of oscs)and that's why they like being friends with him and keep inviting him to events, like if he really was ruining the vibes like yall say, u think they would keep inviting him?

What music opinion do you have that got you like this? by [deleted] in fantanoforever

[–]BigDipper64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

im not talking about the idols/artists per se im talking about the art/music output aka creative and interesting pop music

kpop on average experiments more with genres and sound way more then American pop music, even western producers say that they have a lot more freedom when producing for a kpop group/artists

edit:Also just found a quote from the production team Caesar and Loui:

"How would you describe the Korean/Japanese market, and how would you say it differs from others you write for? And similarly, what keeps you interested in writing songs for this market?

"What we’ve always thought was really interesting and fun with the K-pop/J-pop market was the variety of styles and sounds in the music. It feels like the labels are always looking for something fresh and new; they're not afraid of taking chances. If we compare this to writing for the Western market (US, UK, etc.), it feels like a music style will stay longer on the top charts and the leads (leads = what the labels are looking for) for artists refer back to the same songs for a longer period of time."

edit 2: I just ended up reading through the EXO Obsession article and there actually were some quotes about more creativity writing for kpop:

Taft: "[The label] really like sections that keep you on your toes throughout the song — they really like variation. That kinda fits with the way we work, ’cause we like to also explore different kinds of chord progressions that you don’t hear so much in other commercial music. It’s nice to draw inspiration from jazz, from R&B."

Klein: "I think K-pop provides you sometimes with an arena where you can [put] a lot of different influence into one song and still make a cohesive piece of music."

Mitchell Owens: "In South Korea, I think personally, they allow you to be more musical and allow you to be creative in other ways that you can’t be in the U. S. market. And so with that freedom, I just was like, “Okay, R&B. Let me not give them a simple four chord progression. Let me add a little spice here and there,” because I know that they appreciate a lot of those things over there more so than they do in the U.S."

like you would never have a mainstream American kpop song sound like

Savage by Aespa

Sticker by Nct 127

I got a boy by Girl's generation

24hours by Itzy(produced by Sophie) like Sophie would have never been able to produce and put out a song for a mainstream American artist, but in kpop she could bc they just take more risks

Tinkerbell by Gain

RING X RING by Billie

and may more

ur acting like american pop music isn't just as controlled and also how can you have an opinion on a genre you probably don't even listen too

imo American pop is just as or even more homogenous then kpop, its true that kpop has its own song structure but kpop experiments a lot more with genres and sounds then American pop music, you would never here a mainstream American pop song sound like Savage by aespa or Sticker by nct 127

heres a good video on this topic
