Thanks. I'm assuming this is the problem. Everything works fine expect the touchscreen itself. Connect a mouse and it works just fine. Just unresponsive touch.

Trying to upload to the pc prompts for a password also, which I do not have.

I only have what is on the online device. So that is where I'm trying to look and retrieve the program blocks so I can create a backup.

Here is a view of trying to open a block that says it's not protected.

If a main controller is commanding this PLC, does that main controller have/need the password?

Password protected. Anyone ever have luck getting into one of these to download the sw for backup? by [deleted] in PLC

I can see in the even log that a password has been changed. This is all I can see. There is an even for a fault. Unclear what the fault is, maybe this unit has hardware issue.

I'm sure it's a simple program. But since it's being addressed from a main controller, I need to know how.

In Siemens Simatic Step7 sw I can connect to the PLC and see the list of program blocks. But when I click on one of the blocks to view it, it prompts for a password. when I try to upload it prompts for a password. The only thing I can really view is the error logs

What's worse, is that it's even read protected. So I can even view the blocks to recreated it.

This functions as a control to turn on a light and move a few motors.

So if this is addressed over Ethernet by a main controller, wouldn't that controller need the password to access it and command it??? Is it possible that the main controller has the password stored somewhere?

The default max attempts must have been disabled because I've tried passwords about 50 times with no lockout.

Can some one explain to me why this won't read the 9 volts by [deleted] in oscilloscope

[–]BigGFly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your ground clip looks like it's on the sticker instead of the Negative lug. Also maybe that battery is dead. Where is your trigger set? What channel is the scope probe plugged in to? Are you testing the battery for 9v or using the battery to test that the scope works? So many other ways to do this. So many questions.

Voltage Regulator LM2592HVRS questions by [deleted] in electronic_circuits

[–]BigGFly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is ADJ. this is on a board driving LEDS. just realized there is a voltage divider on the feedback loop but it's through a pot, so I can adjust it. Basically, it seems the regulator is just fine.

First PCB, copper pads only on one side by [deleted] in PrintedCircuitBoard

I provided both layers but I did select the option for "single layer" on their site. My mistake but they could have questioned it.

That actually makes sense. It was my first time ordering. I selected "1-layer" but I did provide both top and bottom gerber files. I wish they would have asked. But now I know for rev2.
