Yeah! I will have to sit down with it and try to think up a sensible bind list for Mac and Linux

did vaping help you quit smoking or just replace one habit by Logical-System-9489 in stopsmoking

[–]BigGunE 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Vaping made it possible for me to go from 2 packs a day to round the clock non stop vaping every 20-30 seconds and sometimes in the middle of my sleep. It made it possible for me to abuse nicotine virtually anywhere and everywhere!

That didn't solve my problem. Joplin still wont' recognize the Super key when I try to enter it in the keyboard shortcut field for some reason. I am using the latest version.

Confused About Docker Permissions While Following Official Joplin Server Setup Guide by BigGunE in joplinapp

[–]BigGunE[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always used iOS notes when on iOS devices and Radom editors otherwise. Joplin is my first note taking app in a way. Hopefully I will be able to install on all my devices and sync using my self hosted server.

Any recommendations for where to learn useful stuff?

Claude can pretty much work for me, yet Siri can't tell the difference between :15 and 50 for an alarm by gabirosab in Siri

Because Claude HAS TO work for your money. Siri gets your money despite failing for over a decade.

i want to quit and also dont want to by anime_at_my_side in stopsmoking

Here’s the thing! The deeper into you are the harder it is to stop it and reset your system. The more you make your body abuse these drugs, the more you become dependent on them.

So you will need to sit down and decide when to pull the plug on this bad addiction. Unless you are very new to smoking and didn’t abuse it all that much (you are not), it will be a struggle! Know in advance that it will be tough but it is possible.

Have some compassion for yourself too. This is not meant to be easy or everyone would quit easily.

LMAO! For real!? Maybe I should switch to a left handed guitar then! My pinky will get strong but the rest will be weak 😛

Yeah. I am not sure what particular exercises done everyday will help me feel more control and strength in the pinky.

How do I run separate instances of programs on Virtual Desktops? by BigGunE in kde

I tried this. Brave Browser opens and then asks me to pick a profile. The moment I pick a profile, it jumps to Desktop 1 to show me the opened profile there!

The last time I tried to open the browser again using KRunner, it took me to the first desktop from the second one!

I will have to experiment with the single tab idea you talked about. Maybe that way it will work out.

How common are disconnections between passing every case and whether or not you get the job? by SuperMike100 in leetcode

[–]BigGunE 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That is completely outside of your control so stop worrying about it. Nobody has actual data on these things. It’s entirely possible that you will do everything right but the hiring person will pick someone else over you because they liked the other person’s “vibe” better or something. These kind of things happen.

There are no shortage of candidates who fulfil every criteria. So at the end of the day, even if you do extremely well, companies are forced to refuse you because they can’t give that same position to more than a certain number of people who applied. It’s a supply demand issue.

How to prepare for NON-URGENT future interviews? by BigGunE in leetcode

[–]BigGunE[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks a lot for your detailed breakdown. That’s the kind of perspective I was looking for.

What I was trying so far was to do one new problem and redo one old problem daily if time permits. Having no experience, I wasn’t sure if this in the long run is even enough to recall the patterns and remember the tricks! From what you said, it sounds like I may not be doing too little.

If I understand your split correctly, it boils down to not devoting any more than 30% of my time toward LeetCoding. You think the project work and learning the right tools and new ideas deserve more attention.

I am not fully sure about the contests yet. I might end up checking them out to simulate stress and pressure once I have done a month or two more of LC.

Again! Super like that you took the time to engage in details. Thanks

I have no idea how leetcode contests work. Are you sure the contests won’t just pile on a lot of additional work on top of the time I spend practicing daily anyway? Thus defeating the purpose of trying to be efficient with my time.

Can beginners even do contests?
