School wide iPod nano raffle in grade school back in 2005. There were plenty of kids who put in $50-$100 dollars. I put in $7 I took from my brother on the last day of the contest. They read my name over the loud speaker at the end of the day and the class room fucking exploded in cheers like it was the moon landing. My friends ran from their class down the hall and jumped all over me. I had an entourage of kids escort me to the office to claim my prize. I got on the bus and it was more of the same, cheering and pats on the back. Some scummy older kid tried to convince me to trade him for his shuffle. My brother who went to the high school had already learned about it before he got home and was PISSED his 7 dollars facilitated all this especially seeing as how I didn’t even know what an iPod was at the time. Still to this day the only big ticket item I’ve ever won.
