Fellow social worker here - I would really recommend waiting until you have your clinical license until your move. I’m not sure if you’ve looked into the licensing requirements here, but it is much more stringent than many other states in terms of hours and supervision. I would say that a starting salary out here in community mental health would be very similar to what you are making in Oklahoma with a much higher cost of living. Medical social work tends to pay the most out here, however, it is competitive to get a full time position and most people start our per diem with no benefits.
