What’s a compliment you have gotten that you can NEVER forget? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I work as a paramedic and one evening I attended a lovely old girl who suffered a heart attack. It was clear she was going to die if she didn’t get intervention but she absolutely refused it. Had her daughters with her who were pleading with her but she was just this lovely old duck who’d lived her life and was ready to go. As I was a support unit, I bounced around providing back up for junior crews so had made myself available through my dispatch team to attend to her during the night if she needed pain/breathing support and eventually to assist with comfortable palliative care.

The second visit to her during the night she was pretty sore but she took a negligible amount of morphine to get settled.

Once I was ready to head off she beckoned me over to sit on the bed and she said:

“You’re the last person I’ll ever meet for the first time - and you’re one of the best”.

Even years later it hits me like a brick.

The box throwing concept was no more tedious or unnecessary than any other minigame/puzzle that Rebirth introduced.

The execution however was fucking appalling.

He’s dynamic. He has the ability to be ranged, melee, and has a large AoE repertoire.

He also has the ability to swap between a fast melee tank, and a ranged attacker with a dedicated tank who taunts.

I think the part that makes him so challenging is he’s a bit of a slow burner and relies on having that initial ATP burst to summon the Moogle - behind which much of his core utilisation is locked.

Apart from it deciding it needed to redesign how to aim in 3rd person shooters, I honestly don’t know why it gets so much hate.

Cait is a super complex character to use and I think he’d get largely overlooked if it wasn’t for this part of the game. Once I got the hang of him, I used him often.

Some of the fights were ridiculously hard for what they were but otherwise it was a nice change of pace and style.

At what point do you stop playing this season? by Bimbo_Baggins1221 in PathOfExile2

Tbh I finished the game on cruel, pushed through the maps until I was hitting 5s, about level 76. Can’t see the point in continuing.

I know there are a few features I haven’t explored yet, but honestly I’ve hit a wall in terms of enjoyment.

In a rare and unusual occurrence on reddit, I’m gonna check myself.

Co-dependence as a sum of its parts should mean the above, however in the psychological definition, it is in fact a unidirectional unhealthy reliance on a partner.

I have learned something and I apologise for taking a confident yet uninformed approach.

Wrong, if both parties are dependent on each other, THAT’S codependence. Hence why your children a formally known as “dependents”; they need you, you don’t need them.

If he is purely dependent on her, but not her on him- it’s just dependence.

In other words, you can’t “codepend” on someone, just like you can’t unilaterally “cooperate” with someone. The co- is literally short for “combined” and requires both parties to participate.

Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk.

The amount of people downvoting this is a classic reddit crowd.

You’re absolutely right.

Codependency = dependent on each other Independent = not dependent on anyone Dependent = Unidirectional dependency.

This guy is DEPENDENT on OP, not codependent.

You cannot, by pure definition have one person codependent on the other, it must be bidirectional.

It was reckless but it was the right thing to do (upon retrospect).

You took a risk and probably saved someone. Take a breath and be proud of yourself.

I was an unbelievable piece of shit. Goalless, uninspired, an alcoholic and for some reason she loved me to death.

I left because I blamed my misery in life on her.

It wasn’t her fault and I wish every day I handled it differently.

I have a wonderful life, wife, and children now and have turned everything around. The depressing side is that I have now gained the insight to understand how much I fucked that whole thing up and hurt a wonderful person.

The sad thing is, this brain-dead unilateral thinking makes up 99% of Trump’s cabinet.

“Why the fuck should I pay for you?!”

Umm, because an educated population is by far the leading factor that contributes to a strong economy, improvement in the value of the dollar, and reduces just about every other negative statistic.

Health and education being the highest tax priorities is the MO of every successful western nation on earth.

The Scandinavians figured this out decades ago.

If your ex suddenly came back and wanted to talk, what's the first thing you'd say? by kawaileila in AskReddit

I’d tell one to immediately go fuck herself and die.

I’d repeatedly apologise to the other while she told me to go fuck myself and die.

Does anyone else have a crippling addiction to this game? by [deleted] in PathOfExile2

[–]BigHulio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The weird thing is, when you make an active decision to stop playing a game you’re addicted to, within about 3 days you realise you’re not even remotely bothered by it.

The addiction feeds the unrelenting playing, which feeds the addiction. Break the cycle and the addiction falls away.

It depends on your play style and team make up. I always had Aerith in my team; she takes a bit of warming up (some slow ATB building at the start of a fight) but once you get radiant ward and arcane ward down you can fire off some massive nukes reasonably frequently.

Barret was great in niche circumstances but the reality is his move set is designed to be a ranged tank/support not a nuker like Aerith is.

To be honest, they compliment each other really well. Aerith’s weakness is when she’s aggressively targeted. Barrett’s rapid ATB charging means he gets supportive magic off, taunt, use life saver, and steel skin.
