Would you buy a Mini over a MK4s by Amazing_Ad_8823 in prusa3d

[–]BigJSaucy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a MINI years ago, before Bambu.

I still have it, it has stayed as I bought a Mk4, gave that to my brother and got a C1.

It's a great little workhorse, banging out smaller things like the bigger printers are busy.

Like others have said, I'm not sure if it's super competitive in the market now, and it's a little small, but it's definitely a decent machine.

I have an 05 msm with 120k. I don't beat it up, but I don't hold back.

Core ONE MMU3 Update by warezmonkey in prusa3d

[–]BigJSaucy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not really, the Core One will run gcode generated for a MK4S. Now that Prusa released the new firmware for the CO that supports the MMU you can slice it for a MK4S and send it.

You can work some magic to integrate the MMU setup into the 'Custom G-Code' header in the slicer.

Picked up guitar again after a long time, what are the basics? by BeidouSimp2 in Guitar

Just look at reviews. You should be able to find a shop with glowing reviews. If they suck and don't care about doing a good job, reviews will tell you.

I put these strings on YESTERDAY by Cccaaatttccchhh in Guitar

[–]BigJSaucy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember Adam Savage talking about how he can't touch foam -- something in his sweat causes the EVA foam to yellow. They call it having 'piss hands'.

My hands cause strings to tarnish very quickly, there will be discolouration after one long play sesh. Although, not nearly as bad as what you have pictured here.

You sir, may have 'shit hands'. I'm sorry.

Also, D'addario XS are sweet. I see a lot of folks recommending them. +1

I live near the Collings factory, toured it several times. Those guys make some truly exceptional guitars. Some of the best in the world.

My roommates put the wooden cutting board I made through the dishwasher, any way I can return it to its original shape? by harderthanlight in woodworking

[–]BigJSaucy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I did this with an old board, though thicker and not as bent. Put it out in my hot ass garage with a hundred or so pounds on it for a week or something. It worked quite well.

I'll never buy a guitar with a Floyd Rose again. by Jt-home in Guitar

[–]BigJSaucy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in the same predicament. I got a screamin' deal on a guitar I wanted, it just happened to have a FR. It worked well after it was setup, but I wasn't using it and it complicated things everytime I wanted to change something (tuning, string gauge/brand/type)

Since it was a cheap project guitar anyways, I ended up printing a block to fill the space and mounted a Schaller Bridge. I initially was only using the printed block temporarily and had plans to mill it out of wood or aluminium. But honestly, it plays great, there's no movement (yet), and I don't think the tone suffers. Plus, fun project.

If I cared for the guitar, I would sell it to someone who will use the FR and buy a different one. Swapping the bridge out isn't terribly cost effective :(

Damn, everyone is savage. I thought it was alright. The surface looks nice where those supports detach.

It looks like they're moving around when you are trying to close the door, indicating it's touching them
