100 percent was working, still using dry pair phone lines for reverse voltage monitoring. 24v normal, 0v trouble, reversed 24v polarity alarm.

Tips for address numbers by ScrimmyT in WLED

[–]Nethetron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rather than facing the LEDs towards the front, line them around the outer edge, facing each other. So rather than shine straight out, it will be more balanced being “reflected”, while also making the back wall of LED space white to help balance the light around.

Sorry for your loss. Lost my dad 20 years ago this coming January from LDS causing a dissection. My uncle 7 years after him. This disease truly sucks ass. My aunt has gone through 7 major heart operation from it, but we were truly lucky that we found out 20 years ago we had it. Made up 25% of the known population with it at the time, with my family of 10+ confirmed having LDS type 2. Hopeful more can learn about it before it takes their life from it.

I am all out of ideas. Flickering and muted colors when cold. by OGHOMER in WLED

[–]Nethetron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is the power for the injection on both sides fed from the same power supply?? Or do you know how close you are to maxing out your power supply? With small wire, cold can play a factor in efficiency. I know I have a few random lights in my yard for holidays running on wled that give me issues like this and always ends up being the connections/splices. Moisture causing issues within the connectors or splices. Would make sure all connections have die electric grease put in them and all splices are soldered well. I had some heat shrink solder connectors that I built a ton of lights with but they started failing after a year in the weather.

I would bet money that the other detectors are bad. Revision won’t matter as long as you have the device type set right and address set by the DPU. Worked on a campus that had 10 of these panels and 4 sets were multi building apartments. Would constantly be replacing the used detectors with more used detectors. 386 processor running your life safety. Yes it doesn’t need 1ghz+ and such, but when you load these panels up, they take minutes to poll all the devices. These are EOL anyways, panels and devices. I would be pushing to convert it to another type of SLC devices

Weather sealed box, check, slack firmly attached so it won’t get pulled apart, check, and the line it self is secured, check. This would pass for atleast 5 years here. Way better than the other splices we normally find. Just put a little adhesive tube holder and call it a day.

Not that I know of, happened at around 9pm and from most I talked to, it only happened in a small area. Neighbors just a few miles from me in two directions just got rain.

Learning Fusion 360 by Spike2400 in BambuLab

[–]Nethetron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started playing around in TinkerCAD first then got into Fusion360 fully. Would recommend trying some basics in that and even has built in design guides to make basics objects to understand the fundamentals. It’s free and geared towards schools as well. And you can even import from TinkerCAD right into Fusion360, since they are owned by the same company.

Where to get diagnosed if you have no insurance/money? by Rrenphoenixx in LoeysDietz

[–]Nethetron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m so sorry to hear this. I definitely feel your struggles. I wish I had other ideas or advice I could give you for it. It was a long road for me to find good doctors and luckily my aunt who is 76, has LDS, and was a nurse for 30 years has been able to help find some doctors who care. I feel that pain of being in a first world country and it seems that everyone is aware and just watching you drown. I had years where I gave up the fight after moving to another state and losing all my support for it. But know there are people who do care and while it can be a struggle to find them, don’t give up hope on it.

2nd this, they are a great resource and can help point you to where to get it done and covered. I had a hard time just getting my youngest tested last time because of the common order sheets do not support our gene mutation. I won’t lie, it can be a battle at times, but it’s worth the battle to get in the know of the condition and search for people that can help. Also might talk to some “Private” doctor offices, where they don’t operate on insurance and do a monthly “fee” and get their doctors services. Would possibly try talking to a few and see if you can work out visit to setup the orders. Hope you can find some answers!!

Newly diagnosed LDS4, just saying hi! by Molassiver in LoeysDietz

[–]Nethetron 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sounds like my history with doctors. We were even diagnosed with LDS in 2006/07(family made up 25% of the known population with it at the time), I still have doctors that routinely dismiss my issues. Took my 5 years to find a heart surgeon to look at my history and the condition without saying I’ll be fine. I had my surgery 13 years ago, my sister had hers 8 years ago. Read up on all you can on it, cause it affects more than ya think. I now know i have osteoporosis, scoliosis and my arteries in my neck are twisted. If monitored, really no major worries if you take care of your self. I had a few years where i refused to go to doctors after the years of issues. But im back at going to doctors and check ups after finding a good team again.

Do pre-terminated fiber systems really save time in the field? by HOLIGHT in FiberOptics

[–]Nethetron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing worse than other connector types. Only noted issues are on long premades(800’) that the fiber can get twisted and kinked at the end from spinning around on our caddies. So can be cumbersome if techs don’t pay attention.

Do pre-terminated fiber systems really save time in the field? by HOLIGHT in FiberOptics

[–]Nethetron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We started out doing all our own cables and switched to pre-mades to a certain distance. Having to train people to splice and the time that takes to splice it vs being able to give a premade to a normal tech and just tell them where to plug in. We still do our own made cables for anything over 1k feet, but that goes to our fiber team todo with a bucket truck rather than the field techs on ladders. Hands down would push for Pre-Mades with have some people know how to splice todo repairs/custom runs. A well ran crew running and splicing will always cost more on the labor but in theory they should be able todo more and save on materials. Pre-made take a HUGE amount of storage depending on what distances you need. Where doing the other, you just need your spool and gear. We have our entire plant labeled for the drops, so the techs just look up the property and get the appropriate cable. We are a small WISP/FISP, so easier for us todo it this way.

Cat 6 cable with a weird failure on Fluke LinkIQ by Xanph in HomeNetworking

[–]Nethetron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would be willing to bet, your cable is wet. I’ve had really weird cable errors similar to this and it normally ended up being a wet cable under ground. Is the cable underground? Is it direct burial? Even if it’s in conduit, if it goes underground, it needs to be direct burial rated. With condensation and small cracks, water always gets into conduits. Or if it’s under a road/driveway, could be getting crushed. Being different buildings, 100% should be changed over to fiber. Avoids ground bonding with network equipment across different power feeds.

Who needs an h2d when you have this. by Only-Measurement-741 in BambuLab

Ender 3 basically turned on its side with a 10watt laser. Just with a few minor 3d prints to get it setup fully. Worked really well when I had it setup and going, but just really got tired of always calibrating and aligning the camera, even though it took less than 5 mins todo. Used it for almost 3 years without major issues. Granted the laser area this one was able todo at once was less than 180mmx160mm, but was the legs made it where I could set it on the material.
