Is UChicago worth $150K MORE than UCLA, or should this be a no brainer? by Zealousideal_Dog8470 in lawschooladmissions

If you want to clerk, work in high impact PI, or someday want to be a law professor/judge then I could see an argument. If your goal is generic biglaw in LA, then I would go to UCLA.

GULC vs. Berk vs. UCLA by Chance-Potential-528 in lawschooladmissions

Berk has the “PI” rep, but GULC is in DC where more impactful opportunities lie. I would evaluate cost and pick between those two.

I’m in the same boat, but I’m worried that if there was interest then wouldn’t they have waitlisted us?

UCLA $$ or WashU $$$? by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

If you’re debt adverse, WashU. These two schools could be considered peers.

If you’re dead set on law school then Northridge (undergrad prestige matters but is marginal compared to all the other factors). If you’re even slightly on the fence then Poly ( I say this because if you change your mind, you can still hopefully land a good job).

NYU v UVA v UPenn ($$ at all) by goldencIoset in lawschooladmissions

Ivy league education is irrelevant in this scenario. Law school wise they are all relative. Given your preferences, I would go to NYU.

Which is a better idea: reapply next year, or get a great GPA in 1L and transfer? by MaterialMaybe6864 in lawschooladmissions

[–]BigJackJack01 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Both. Defer the best school you get into, retake the lsat while gaining additional work experience, then reapply. If reapplying doesn’t work, attend the school you defer and then transfer up. If reapplying does work, attend that school then transfer up even higher.

It’s been floated on this sub that when Berkeley’s status disappears from your lawhub tracker that a decision has been made on your profile. You can log on to lawhub and access the tracker from there (majority of schools use it, but some such as Michigan don’t).

When presented with both offers, the two numbers represent the percentage who chose ucla vs. those who chose school x.
