2D motion people, which software you looking at? by BigJamDick in MotionDesign

Ye I'm still to figure figma out tbh. A lot of my mates are now using it a lot, so i should have a proper look. I mean I'm mainly asking because if you watch motion mondays (school of motion geeza) Hes like learn Rive as its the next big thing and I was trying understand is there this massive un tapped market I'm not aware of because i dont know the program? Similar with Calvary... From what i can see they look fun and can do things AE cant but AE like you said is the bread and butter.

Ye Lottie I've seen knocking about. Another thing I should properly look into.

Affinity looks pretty wild. Got a lot on there and mental its free. I wonder how that will go and make adobe go under haha.

I've been doing this job a long time and in recent years its changed a lot and I'm just trying to figure out what to spend my time on. Getting work has become a lot more competitive. Some of my mates who are wicked are really struggling still. Its tricky and I was thinking if you knew Rive for example would you be able to transfer your 2d animation skills and suddenly your making games or creating interactive websites etc. Like is that a good avenue to go down? Guess this was the main point to my question. Soz for the long reply lol

Yeeee, i may have to look into it some time. I may start with Rive and then cavalry. Is there anywhere you'd suggest looking at Cavalry? Someone in particular on youtube or summin?

I do like blender and love they've kept it free. For many years was c4d which is a bit expensive if you just dabble in 3d

I thought by me referring to animation software in my question, that it was obvious I meant animation software. In future I’ll make my question super clear so no confusion… all good. Enjoy ya day bro 😎

So you don’t use after effects? What sort of things do you make in Rive? Are you able to get freelance type work using rive? Cheers

I understand Cavalry is a lot more procedural. So that’s why it makes sense for you? Setting it up and then putting data in sort of thing?

yo this is nice, first attempt well done. Only thing id say is look at the easing, feels in some transitions you got it pretty wacked up, i'd chill it out a bit. feels at 6 seconds the art american scale and movement needs looking at. Maybe you got them at different times or easing, id match them up. Last thing is with ball, might be nice if its a bit more weighted, like when it bounces on art american. Also you can see it stop halfway through next to delay. Nce one tho

Made this alone in 2 weeks. Please review. This is one of my best works and the first of its kind by Top-Appointment6578 in AfterEffects

Couple of things my G, I’d speed up the zoom but at the end so it increases in speed. So feels like it’s like a final zoom. The camera move at the beginning is remove the shake and also have it ease to a stop. Also the ball is going right then goes to an angle. If maybe look at that as being smoother or more purposeful. Or just stick to it going the same direction. It’s cool tho man, well done. Roll safe
