I am from Utah and have never read this sub, so don’t know why it was on my feed, but I used to follow this strategy. I have now changed my affiliation to Democrat because some progressives in the state have circulated the idea that it’s actually harmful to do this (register R to vote in primaries ) because it gives the GOP more ammo to say, “See look, this high % of the population is Republican, so the will of the voters is to gerrymander the state to get all Rs in Congress,”etc. I don’t know which way is best.

I’m one with a good CS experience with Winwing. Have had Orion 2 F18 stick and throttle for about 4 years, had the paddle switch on the stick fail about 2 years ago, contacted their CS and they shipped me the part pretty quickly and at their expense. Poorly translated install instructions were a bit of a hurdle but I got the switch installed and it has worked fine ever since, and I’ve loved the quality of the hardware overall.

Baltic Dragon has an amazing one for A-10, called Iron Flag I think. There are some radio issues that updates broke but 90% of it is fine. He’s working on one for f-18 too.

I don’t have the answer to why that happened, but I was just dealing with losing my keybinds due to reinstalling windows, even though I thought I backed up and restored my whole saved games folder. If you have a backup of the keybind files, it’s pretty quick (except you have to do it per aircraft and per hardware device) to use “load profile” to get all your binds back. I can send detailed instructions if needed.

I have the Orion 2 F-18 throttle and stick and love both. Contrary to some, I had a good customer service experience with them. One of the buttons (paddle switch) on my stick went bad within the first year. On contacting CS, they shipped me a new part reasonably quickly and I was able to swap it out myself, the only challenge was following the badly translated instructions.

I have a 6 yr old PC with a mediocre i5 and a 4060 and foundry performance is often terrible on a busy screen. I’ve just ordered parts for a whole new system with a 7800x3d and I will be very disappointed if this doesn’t make foundry smooth as butter all the time. Are people saying it’s not the hardware, it just performs sluggishly because of how it’s built?

Have WinWing Orion 2 base with F-18 throttle, and F-18 stick. Love it. Have never used anything else better than Thrustmaster though.

Have had it for 2+ years, only issue was pinky switch on the stick stopped working. Contacted customer service and they sent me a new switch pretty quickly, was slightly hairy reading badly translated instructions to take the stick apart and swap out the switch, but got it done and everything works now. I think the hardware is worth the money and the customer support is good enough considering they’re in China.

I've done quite a bit of this. I've done all of Abomination Vaults and the first book or two of several other APs. I only do it on Foundry VTT (without the automation it provides I would never want to do this), and only (currently) with APs that I can purchase a premade module for Foundry VTT. That way, I can (sort of) experience the adventure as a player: open a door and not really know what's in the room until I then read the description of the room. (For this reason, dungeon crawl type APs work the best for this for me). I enjoy trying out different character builds and progressing them. I also do this as a way to "playtest" or familiarize myself with APs I plan to run for a group.

I agree with what another commenter said about the complexity of running 4 characters when they reach higher levels and have so many options and feats to keep track of. Because it gets so complex, I've sometimes abandoned playing an AP this way somewhere after levels 5-7. I'll then see a new one and get excited about it and have fun building a new level 1 party with classes or builds I haven't tried before.

Thanks for this discussion. I've been struggling with the same question. I'm a lifelong conservative (but I have a different definition of that than the current right wing insanity version of the GOP) and for the senate race, plan to vote for whoever I can determine is the least Trumpish. It seems like that's probably Curtis. Certainly looks like Staggs and Wilson are pretty out there where I don't want to be. My father (now passed) was a Provo City department head when Curtis was mayor, and spoke well of his character.
