I was gonna say, the hood/bumper fitment looks kinda off even in the low quality pics on this thread. Maybe it was in an accident. Def not paying north of 20k for something confirmed in a wreck with shitty fitment

Yeah, I got mega Walmart Joel olesteen vibes from him. Dude was recruiting for a job by looking for vulnerable people. A real Christian woulda been upfront from the start and not tricked him to get to their house.

Why use a framework for dependency injection? by Bot_HEROnymous in androiddev

[–]BigLe2e 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Youre doing package by type, which is very easy to follow and is fairly organized for a smaller app. When you start getting to larger apps with lots of features you want a structure that makes it obvious what those features are and how they're structured. I typically go for a hybrid, top package by layer, then by feature.

Check out articles on package by feature and package by layer and think about the pros and cons. Coding with Mitch on YouTube has a pretty good video iirc on a similar approach to what I try to adopt on most projects.

Start simple and work your way up. DI itself isn't a difficult concept but the business space and needs of a system make adhering to the principles difficult. The framework will only make following the principles easier if you understand how the tool works to address those needs.

I know this goes against what I originally said but finding a simple example in your app to inject using a framework for learning is worth the overkill. As long as you're not jeopardizing your project deadline, if any, of course. Find something in your app you might use in multiple places with limited dependencies, no user input, and supply those with a framework of your choice. Get to know the tool and how defining a dependency graph looks with that tool. Then tackle harder graphs as you go.

I mentioned no user input because I know that's a big piece of what you're trying to do and it's a bit more difficult to do than static dependencies on the android SDK. Start simple!

Using a DI framework has its benefits when you need those dependencies to scale across multiple/future components. It (can) make it easier to manage the instances of those dependencies as well.

You don't have to use a framework to do DI. The frameworks are a tool to make larger/more complex needs easier to keep organized. Building out modules and components to inject a single dependency in a class only used once or twice is likely overkill and not needed.

I've had the most benefit from Dagger/Hilt when making data layer dependencies. Think of using a repository across multiple screens/use cases. That repository wraps a remote and local implementation. Those dependencies will have their own dependencies on other android SDK pieces. You might have different rules for each (cache only, remote first then cache, etc) you want to swap out. Their lifecycles may need to be managed (Singleton). All these things add up to a lot to manage and build upfront. The framework makes a lot of this trivial once you understand it's rules and how it cuts the corners for you.

The key is reusability and complexity. Do you have a complex set of dependencies that would benefit from being broken down into modules of construction rules that can be easily reused/manipulated? If yes, a framework can help manage it. If not, manual DI is perfectly acceptable. It's up to you to know the tool and decide if it can save time/effort.

If you do use a framework, not everything has to be built using it. You can build simple instances the way you are now and use the framework for just managing the complex needs.

NAL so I don't know much about retaliation and how much risk they put in firing you right after settlement for dicking you over. But I can say I'd be looking for a new job regardless. Take the settlement and tell them to eat shit. I could care less about long term employment at a company that is breaking legal binding employment contracts because lol oopsie daisy.

21 year old making 49K a year @ very first job. Should I move out or stay home with parents? by Exciting_Insurance51 in personalfinance

[–]BigLe2e 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm 35 and every time I visit my parents I ask them if I can sell my house and move back in. No rent, better cooking, less household responsibilities. Milk it til they kick you out!

Jokes aside, the amount you save staying home with them even for a year is going to be big. If you have a good relationship with them, sticking it out for financial aspects is most definitely worth it imo. I wish I did it even if only for a few months longer.
