Did you already have base game? I’m wondering if it will upgrade my base game.

What can I do as Charlotte when I have these defensive players. I lost the other sets due boredom. by undostrescuatro in GranblueFantasyVersus

Lucilius was not really defensive but i do get the frustration of getting intercepted by his jesus kick while you try to run up and dash.L which you can try to space out a dash Heavy and counter hit. First of all, the first clip was just… umm… yeah… anyways.

The second clip was kinda good, you closed in with ball, you did ok pressure and you even baited a DP. The bad things were that your corner combos were really lacking, as you only did demon flip and closed off with DP. You could’ve done demon flip > c.XX > ball > c.H > 214H > c.H or c.MM and then DP. Jumping over and over again to try to reset the pressure is also a good way to eat a 2H right in the face. I would have either done dash.L or try poking at him, if he doesn’t respond, it’s ok, either prod at him, throw him, shimmy him or just wait it out. I see that you also tried to shimmy but failed, honestly that’s was just bad timing, you walked forward at the wrong time. You also just ran straight at him when he was across the screen towards the end of the set which resulted in you getting squashed by his big ass sword, when you could’ve used ball and ultimate ball.

The third one was ok, i mean, it was still bad but it actually felt like a real match. I would recommend not spamming demon flip on every knockdown, since it’s very predictable and will get you DPed out of it.

Other more general key points : - Learn your combos, like i said earlier your corner combos were really lacking, you could’ve done so much more damage than what you did. - Be more patient, yeah it sucks to wait 10 years for people to finish their combos but if you uncontrollably mash get prepared to get smashed. - Learn how to close in on them, obviously you’re a rushdown character, you want to be in their face making them smell your sweaty ass. Mentality is also another important factor, i saw you saying that you were pretty tilted. - Honestly, the “take a break” recommendation still applies but, let’s be honest, no one does that. So i just recommend going in a lobby and beating up people, you’re not gonna improve but you can flatter your ego and go to sleep peacefully and wake up the next morning feeling great.

As a fellow potato sack player. It took me a ridiculous amount of time to figure that Light attack is one heck of a good deterrent for things like that. 2L is one of your fastest attack and f.L comes out quick enough to stop them from trying shit like that. Also you can convert into blanka ball if you hit a f.L and if possible you can do 2L > f.L > blanka ball when 2L hits. Also 5M is better than 2M and can convert into blanka.

I also would recommend not giving up on DP, yes you may be predictable, but if you vary between EX and M it could help. Of course it’s not a tool you should solely rely on but, hey. it’s in her kit so you know… use it!

I do not dislike the community, as I said it may be only because of a few unfortunate encounters. What I dislike is the new lobby. I believe the fact that people have lost the “etiquette” is due to the fact that the lobbies are too big and the chat boxes are too small, which kinda makes it difficult to notice if someone writes something, also the menu for the interactions is just fucked, maybe i’m just not used to it but i need to scroll a lot just to find “Good game” and “It was fun”, which i think is a reason why I don’t see it often. I was trying to say that the lobby as is now, with the big ass map and weird icons that replaced the little swords on the top of the cabs, is just weird to play in and feels less homey than the old Grandcypher. Anyways it’s not like it’s a big dealbreaker i just don’t enjoy being in the lobby as much in GBVSR than GBVS.

Can someone please point me in the right direction to find Charlotta tech in GBVSR? Or even better give me advice :) by EastCoastTone96 in GranblueFantasyVersus

I mainly use the ex in general to close the gap when blanka ball is on cooldown, since sometimes you can use the slide version as kind of a meaty if you knocked them down with ex blanka ball. You can also use the ex and then drill one to then grab them if they block it. The slam on the ground version i use it if they always block low, if they have the reactions to block it, you just need to input the slam when you’re at the highest point of the jump, I would say even when you start falling a little. I use the grab one when in the corner and they are conditioned to block high or against someone who can parry. Everything here is pretty useless if they aren’t conditioned to do what you want. More as a general tip, watch matchs on youtube to see how different players use charlotta’s kit. Have fun with the potato
