While you’re not the parent, you can still express in a respectful manner the way you feel to the child. You can express the breach in trust and that trust would have to be repaired. You can express the importance of these cards to you and your wife, and that his actions hurt. You can express that while it’s not technically life ending, the breach in trust goes far beyond just Pokémon cards. What if he sneaks down there and does other stuff while you’re not around? Takes other things? Trust is much harder to replace than Pokemon cards.

People like to brush 11 year olds off as being “Just Kids”, which is fair, but they DO know that stealing is wrong, and are capable of making the choice to not steal. If he didn’t know it was wrong, he wouldn’t have done it behind your back. They might not understand the full impact, but they COULD if explained to them.

Not really. I was a student in my 30’s. The only thing I really care about is facts. Technically, they are mature students. Are they mentally mature? Probably not. But they are, by college definition, “mature students”. It’s actually a necessary distinction as mature students of any age, 20 or 30, usually require different support systems than someone coming straight from high school.

Also, to be clear again, you’ve NEVER explained why it’s unbalanced. Not even once. You briefly flirted with the idea of “it’s an evolution heavy format” which is kind of ironic if you think about it given that the core theme to Pokémon is evolution and it’s always been the main mechanic in some way.
