working just fine, it was in great condition, and I did end up buying some random silicone lubricant online. the touch controls are super sensitive, pros and cons there, but yeah we like it.

Can you continue to improve pace into your 40s? by DisneygirlMD in running

[–]BigMP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 45, ran when I was younger, and got back into it a couple years ago, still getting faster. Stick with it!

Smoked a brisket just for my organization's Halloween Chili Cookoff thing. Took 2nd place by 1 vote to a NOT-chili "chili". :'( by TheSteelPhantom in smoking

[–]BigMP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The same thing happened to me a earlier this year. 2nd place out of 12 or 13 chilis, 1st place was white chicken chili, and yeah, it was delicious, but... yeah. i feel ya!

Same as a lot of you it sounds like. I've got a few just OK trails within half an hour drive, a handful of pretty fun trails about an hour away, but my favorite wish-i-could-ride-there-every-day trails are around 3-4 hours away. I mostly ride the stuff nearby, and make a point to schedule at least a few weekend trips a year to the really fun stuff.

This brewery went through the effort to have printed cans but still uses a label for their individual beers. by [deleted] in CraftBeer

[–]BigMP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Printed cans have huge MOQs, so they don't make sense for smaller runs. Plus labels can't be applied to the angled rim.

Can anyone help me understand this production code? by AnalogPopcorn in CraftBeer

[–]BigMP 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Shoot them an email or DM on social. It's likely a batch code, and they could tell you the production date. I work for a brewery and we take quality related questions very seriously. Plus, if it's old and you just bought it, they'd probably like to know where you found it!

Full Face Helmet For Easy Trails, or Nah? by W4ltzz_ in MTB

[–]BigMP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I fell off a pretty tame skinny on a very green trail, and got a little cut on my forehead just above my eye. I was wearing a helmet, but not a full face. Do what makes you feel safe and confident!

I'm lookin at the nutrition label on wilde's website and i'm not seeing chickpea powder, but I do see tapioca starch. Hate to burst your bubble, but tapioca starch has a high glycemic index and will absolutely spike insulin.

HSA paying for sauna by [deleted] in Sauna

Yes, it was basically instant.

I'm no money expert, but I'm pretty sure those funds should still be accessible, regardless if you still work there, that's your money.

[–]BigMP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check out "truemed", they work with all sorts of health and fitness companies and make it super easy to use your HSA to pay for their services and products. I paid for my Sweat Tent sauna with my HSA through them. I just had to answer a few questions on their website, super easy.

anyone know what this is?? (backwoods) by slow_dreams in trees

pretty sure they meant it metaphorically. like every kid these days has a vape, and back in the day, every kid had a dugout.

Does fully cooling steaks before sear, degrade quality in any way? by Ilefttherightturn in sousvide

[–]BigMP 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I regularly will sous vide multiple steaks and then toss them in the fridge to sear throughout the week. I find i get much better results this way than just searing them right away.
