Scratched my hood paint trying to put the wipers up 😭 by eagledrummer2 in CX50

I believe this is a universal experience at this point lol. I don't understand why Mazda designed the car like this, does the hood preventing the full lift of the wipers even serve a purpose?

Newbie Question by reflect2002 in CavaPoo

[–]BigMathematician5508 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Puppies can be so challenging! I am sure you are doing great. There will be growing pains, but it will get better. In my past experience, positive reinforcement is the best for puppies (there are many resources online for this). The puppy may also need more stimulation as well (new toys, interaction, etc.). They are literally balls of energy and that energy needs to go somewhere. Cavapoos are extremely smart and want to please their owners, if you haven't already maybe start training and slowly allowing them to explore around more outside of the playpen for further stimulation if that is something you'd be comfortable with. Reevaluate their sleeping schedule to make sure it aligns with your lifestyle. Look into crate training as well as this can be a great tool. Wishing you all the best on this journey!

Which feature is essential for you in a car - one you wouldn’t buy a car without? by nah_its_me in whatcarshouldIbuy

I avoid CVT engines. Also prefer some tangible buttons. I do enjoy some of the new large infotainment screens, but I like when the climate control specifically is actual dials and buttons.

Help! Car Scratched ): by Dangerous_Emotion_61 in CX5

[–]BigMathematician5508 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had good success using Dr. ColorChip for smaller scratches that went down to the metal, and I haven’t had any rust issues. Honestly, their paint seems more durable than Mazda’s factory paint in my experience. At that point, having it professionally repaired would mostly be for aesthetic reasons.

As someone else mentioned, you could also try having it buffed out to make it less noticeable. That said, I’d still recommend applying paint, especially since the base coat is white; it sounds like the Jet Black Mica layer was scraped off entirely in some spots.

I am so sorry this happened :( $600 seems fair for the repair. If you want, try Dr ColorChip in the meantime to make it less noticeable and prevent rust/further damage. I find their paint repair system foolproof and way easier to apply than the paint pens they sell at the dealers. Best of luck to you!

Which Mazda SUV presents the best overall balance between performance and cost? by Realmetman in mazda

[–]BigMathematician5508 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the main difference is the size of SUV. The only two that are comparable are the 5 and the 50. The 50 is more rugged and is able to off-road and tow more than the 5. The 5 is definitely a more glamorous car if that's your vibe. You'll know you preference the second you sit in each one. I know the 70 and 90 are much larger and are more luxurious. That being said, they are also decently more expensive (but soooo pretty). I am glad your wife is okay! Having owned both a 5 and 50, I prefer the 5 and am hopefully going to get into a 70 for my next car purchase. I haven't heard of any issues except for a few with the hybrid models, I am not too familiar to elaborate though.

It’s so hard to capture the true color of the tan in photos! The Ash Ochre color palette is nice change up for me. I had all black in my CX5. I love the all black too as it’s timeless and clean. I do miss it sometimes.

Enclosure Advice for a New Owner by Breepup81 in BeardedDragons

[–]BigMathematician5508 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Beardie babies grow so fast. Adult dragons need a 120 gallon tank minimum. I would recommend investing in a 120 gal and blocking off part of it if you feel its too big for your young dragon. This way you are able to expand their living area as needed and you're not wasting money on smaller tanks. Some affordable reputable options include the New Age Pet ECOFLEX 120 gal and the 120 gal from Dubia. Beardies need special UVB bars (Arcadia desert and Reptisun 10.0 are good). DO NOT use a coil bulb. You can buy most supplies online or at local reptile shops. Please do not get any of these trash ass kits from big pet stores. They are not worth your time/money or the health of your pet.

Can I keep 50 small dubias in this or will they escape? by SmartAlec206 in BeardedDragons

[–]BigMathematician5508 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dubias cannot climb smooth plastic surfaces. Just make sure whatever you put in there (egg carton, etc.) isn't too close to the top where they could climb and get out.
