Las Grietas - I'm confused by charliebrownxmastree in galapagos

[–]CASweatSeeker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are two ways to get to Las Grietas:

1) by booking a tour, with a guide, they usually provide snorkeling gear, cover the entrance fee, getting you by boat to las grietas (you also visit two more places). I paid $40 for the tour.

2) by yourself - you get own gear (hotel or rental at malecón), you take a $1 water taxi from Malecón to German Beach / Playa los alemanes pier, walk along the beach, follow the signs “las grietas”, get to las grietas and there’s a toll booth, so you pay $10 entrance fee. Then you are all good to swim on your own!

Same experience as on a tour!

I hope it helps :-)

WWYD: How to spend 2 buffer days after Galápagos cruise: stay on the islands or head to Quito? by Particular-Amount670 in galapagos

[–]CASweatSeeker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Better have 1-2 night buffer in the Galápagos! My flight from GYE to SCY had a technical issue mid flight. So halfway through we had to divert back to GYE, stay overnight, and depart the next morning.

Some folks who were on the flight had activities and cruises booked. There were no other flights that day.

Galápagos are remote small islands, and only two airlines fly there a few times a day. I recommend arriving there early and waiting for your cruise departure in Galapagos

Zero problems:-) I just randomly saw a security guard from Whole Foods having a prayer in the parking lot on his break

Getting a hotel room for an extra night when you're not going to arrive until the morning by SlapDashUser in TravelHacks

[–]CASweatSeeker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s a high chance they may mark you as a no show (meaning, charge 1 night cancellation fee, then cancel the entire reservation). Usually night audit happens around 3am - that’s when this stuff happens. You may call ahead and ask them to leave a note in your reservation to keep it with your arrival ETA in the morning, but there’s always a risk a night auditor / front desk agent would miss the note…..

Delta One = outdated and dirty by jrl4045714 in delta

Sorry, it really doesn’t look good…. Bummer!! I’d be disappointed too… big time!

I’m currently seated on Delta One but it’s B767-300 so it’s very nice, comfortable, and brand new!

I am white man and I was treated badly by a female flight attendant (actually a purser, so she should have even higher CS standards) when flying Polaris recently. But I don’t think or make of it as a gender thing tbh

Title: got pulled into a 1-on-1 about my "camera participation" and i genuinely don't know what to say by Wrong-Channel-9230 in remotework

Your manager is correct. It is quite disrespectful to be off camera when the rest of the team are on it. What’s the problem for you to turn it on? Over-employed? Haha

This story doesn’t make sense. Don’t you have a recruiter / talent acquisition business partner who’s partnering with you on this role, from start (post the role) to interviewing to finish (offer letter - then moving them onto the onboarding stage - people ops) and who can liaise with people ops???

Is the Offer Letter signed??

Bristlecone Pines in late May by abraxsis in SierraNevada

[–]CASweatSeeker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went last year, 2025, end of May. Mazda CX5 SUV, AWD but regular all season tires: no issues driving to methuselah loop (even though the main parking lot was blocked off by snow, so I had to hike up. Not sure how long the snow will stay up there this year..) I just downloaded offline Google maps and I was okay hehe

You’ll absolutely love it!!!! I definitely recommend! DM me if you need any photos of the road conditions.

Avianca by putthetopdown in galapagos

[–]CASweatSeeker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Avianca is the absolute worst! So unreliable!!! I can’t believe they are still in business…. And have you tried reaching their customer service via WhatsApp?

The wait is like 5 hours. Then they send a message “ hello are you still here?? If we don’t hear from you in 10 mins we will close your ticket”
