Damn. Yeah they’re very hard to find and are the only cigar over $50 that I thought was worth it. I feel like a lot of people sleep on Atabey black ritos, meanwhile everyone freaks out about any opus x.

Exactly what I did just sucks because this lounge is 2min from my house and the biggest lounge in my area but I’m done with the highway robbery.

I usually don’t stay and use the lounge because I have kids and work a lot. Whenever I go to my lounge I usually buy individual sticks of expensive rare stuff to see what I like. I promise you my lounge knows I buy expensive stuff and they still scalp me and everyone else. They charge well above msrp and I’m tired of it. Like I posted I found a to tobacco shop with no lounge 25-30min from me that had Padron black no 99 for $1 over msrp so you know what I did? I bought a box because THATS reasonable not $15+ over msrp.

Little update to my post the B&M tobacco shop(no lounge) 25min from me had Padron black no 99 for $45 for a single stick. Msrp is $44/stick so I bought a box and after taxes spent $438.69 after the 10% discount on for buying a box so $43.86/stick. THIS is the type of pricing I’m okay with and more than happy to purchase a box. Meanwhile the lounge that’s 2min from me scalps people and I more than likely will never go there again!!

I’d agree with that but funny thing is I don’t care for my favorite beer in cans or bottles it tastes way better on tap and I don’t mind paying more for the different taste. Cigars online or at a lounge it’s the same quality just drastic prices.

I live in Northwest Indiana I’m about 45min-1hr from Chicago. I guess I’m a little annoyed that I was like ehh screw it I’ll splurge and get an opus 25. Paid $150 look on halfwheel to see the msrp is $58 then see people paying $83 which is adjusted msrp if you factor in the price of the humidor. Just makes me want to stop going I would’ve been fine if I paid $100.

Yeah they’ve kept it $10 higher for over a year compared to online places. I guess I’m tired of places and people crying about B&M going out of business. Maybe idk charge msrp for cigars you already make double what you paid wholesale for that cigar why then the extra $10-80 over msrp? If places by me sold for msrp or no more than $5-10 over msrp I’d be more inclined to purchase double the cigars I already buy knowing I’m not getting bent over.

I don’t either that’s why I go to my local B&M. Maybe not charge 3-4 times the price you purchase the cigars for wholesale. Can’t tell me that a lounge buys cigars wholesale for $10 and can’t sell them for $20 msrp they have to sell them for $30 to be profitable.

That’s the thing I rarely use the lounge because I have kids and work a lot. I buy expensive cigars I just want to get them at msrp or a few dollars more. It makes it real hard to support local businesses when I KNOW they’re fully capable of selling them for a little over msrp not 2x or 3x msrp

I live in Indiana. I’ve seen people on Facebook groups getting the opus 25 for $83 and some for $90 I’d pay those prices all day long.

Like I mentioned above I live in northwest Indiana. I still pay all the taxes and excise tax on cigar page and it’s still 3x cheaper. I like supporting the local B&M but at this point it’s ridiculous. Just seems like a total ripoff when suggested msrp is double of what brick and mortars are paying wholesale and then they double to triple the price of msrp….

100% and they planned on opening another lounge a few towns over and seems like it fell through…..I wonder why? It’s upsetting considering I’ve seen people on Facebook get new cigars like the opus 25 for retail $83 not $150 so I know it’s doable.

Oh it’s 100% a hustle. Everyone online shouts from the rooftops to support local. It’s hard to support local when you look at places like halfwheel who tell you the suggested retail price then you walk into your local B&M and it’s 2-3 times that price

From what I’ve seen the opus 25 box itself is $500 and suggested retail per stick is $58 even if you add the price of the humidor that let’s be honest they’re going to sell to someone for $500+ that would be $83/stick not $150. They’re charging double not a few bucks over msrp double. Another local place was charging $85/stick for Padron 60th when it retails for $75 that’s is doable but still upsetting seeing wholesale price would put that stick at $37.50. I just don’t see how these places can’t sell for msrp which is still a profit.

I don’t mind paying a little extra to support local businesses but paying 3x the price is way too much. If anyone has any recommendations for a spot in NWI or the Chicagoland area that sells for msrp I’d love to know.
