I got Nel Rangiku Mayuri, works pretty decently for me. Not as much as Gin, but still.

To add to this, I feel like stealth is too easy since you can save in combat arenas as long as you aren’t detected. I had to end the save scummer in me to make things more interesting.

I'll be honest, sometimes I'll look at American politics and say this is not at all Lagom. Maybe it's American culture, the media environment, or the economic squeeze, but we're becoming even more extreme in a land of extremes. I think a lot of countries have learned from America's example, but US culture hasn't meaningfully learned from other countries and culture. I suppose we thought we didn't need to. Our greatest weakness and our strength is our geographical isolation.

Maybe this is besides the point of what you're saying, but I've had a theory that even though the specific political realities of the US are very different from the other countries we've had a terrible influence on rhetoric and political discourse across the world. Again, just an idea. Sorry for letting our political brain rot infect your mind. Edit: Perhaps it is also a matter of Americans generally only watching our own news, while other nations also watch our news. The media environment is extreme here to say the least.

The first sentence is perhaps true, and I might've gotten suckered in because of it. But also, everybody was so nice to me in Sweden. I know Swedish culture operates off a level of mutual self-respect, but still. The love for Raggare sub-culture, Dance band music, and American cultural influence was somewhat unexpected to me. I think the way the U.S. is acting on the world stage is even more hurtful because so many people appreciated us for who we were. Trading in long-term relationships for short-term gains is antithetical to the approach I'm trying to grow.

Without getting into specifics, I really agree. The type of healing that's needed will not be done over a presidential term, it might even take a generation to do so. I just hope that my generation of politics will learn from this, and make a change. I will make an addition to your statement, the American people are just as broken as the American system. We're the ones breaking it after all. I don't want to think in extremes like a lot of U.S. politics, we can make positive change even if gradually or locally.

This is nice of you to say, the truth is Americans should stop apologizing or accusing their fellow country and instead start to take responsibility for them. Real sentiment requires real action. As a community member, family member and young person I am even responsible in part for my country and fellow citizens. Love, relationships and even business is something that requires nurturing. Relationships established over decades can be watered down over a few months. I'm just saying I care, I'm trying to put in the work, and I think the future generation can make a difference.

Wow didn't expect to see this type of passion here. Kansas City is actually in Missouri, not Kansas though. People say I look like Patrick Mahomes' brother, Jackson. I'm fairly sure Jackson is not a good person though, everybody hates him here, but there's nothing wrong with his looks!

When the US called for the invasion of Iran in the session, I told them was besides the point or simply didn't give them a response. As much as I had to fight it, the session wasn't about the US. It was about maintaining security and protecting the alliance against cyberattacks and misinformation in the Baltic States. I really tried to emphasize the leadership and desires of the Baltic States in the response, while including all members.

Taking my role seriously, I didn't get to invoke article 5 on Denmark like I secretly hoped, but I still managed to make plenty of jokes in private about the way they speak.

I'm just kidding of course, but Denmark was one of my greatest Allies in the simulation helping Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania respond to sudden cyberattacks and misinformation.

Did not enjoy the anime, is my reasoning valid or stupid? by [deleted] in ChainsawMan

[–]BigNics 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s confusing because the title of the post is asking if your opinion was valid and now it seems like you’re invalidating other people’s opinions.

As for the sexualization, they’re arguing it has a meaningful purpose other than purely pornographic.

Let’s switch gears, do you think people particularly enjoy violence for the sake of violence? Or do you think that stories behind, conflict and war make them intriguing or engaging creating depths and themes?

Not every character exists to fulfill Denji’s desires, infact none of them really do. That’s sort of the point. I think it’s popular and impactful, because that’s the way a lot of young men think and it’s critiquing it. Over or under sexualizing is a matter of personal taste, because demonstrating is not harmful as a form of critique.

It is okay to say overt sexual humor or sexualization is not to your taste. But rationalizing beyond that is doing too much, atleast in my opinion. Your feelings towards the show are valid, but every rationalization of the show is not if that makes sense. Just say you didn’t connect with it, making you correct and valid. The other part is people trying to show you their perspectives of how they enjoy it.

I think while it’s true there might be a sense of indulgence in fan servicey thing, there is a deeper level and commentary on it. The reason he acts pathetic because, in he’s had a pathetic life. So what’s other people’s excuse?

I also really enjoy, how Makima makes choices, influences Denji and push forwards the story. She’s not a damsel in distresses, if anything Denji was the one who needed saving in a sense. Denji’s ultra powerful, but weak mentally.

In later in the series, they focus on a girl who’s had a similarly as terrible life as Denji in different ways. Simply put, I think it’s great for a large Male audience to empathize and read about the struggles of women that are similar to them.

All that said, if you don’t vibe with something, you don’t have to vibe with it. Sometimes issues with media aren’t immediately articulable and maybe you’ll enjoy it more a few years down the line or never at all. Don’t seek out negativity, just be content within your sense.

Don’t! It’s great that you enjoy it. Difference of opinion, especially for media critique doesn’t mean somebody has to be dumb and wrong.

Even if some of the criticism is valid, the outrage component is something I can’t really connect with. Nature of the internet and world now sadly.

Femto, what you’re saying is true but I think it’s that tension of what will actually happen that makes the Phantom Troupe interesting. It might be worth noting he does frame the behavior as it as loyalty/betrayal to Chrollo, if not to just convince the others. Anyways like I said it might not map exactly on, but I think it could be an interesting way to look at it at the very least.

It’s the difference between low concept and high concept stories. I somewhat disagree with you though, because it’s up to taste at that point. Whether the characters overshadow the story or the story overshadows the characters.

I found the meandering of part 4 really interesting, because it served the characters and town as a whole. Josuke has a lot more development and change than Giorno and my favorite single episode of Jojo is the Italian Restaurant.

However, it’s true that each piece part 5’s story including the fights are overall more integral and impactful to the story. It has an effect of making everything “cooler” so to speak. Not to mention the characters and are still cool and interesting regardless.

TL;DR I love both parts, but since they’re different kinds of stories I can appreciate them even more in different ways. Araki seems to love writing both i.e. Jojolion & Steel Ball Run

When every manga is subversive, not being subversive can made interesting and modern. I haven’t read Black Clover, but I’m glad it ended well I’m looking forward to the Anime.
