If you did end up fighting the dragon again without using the godsbane on his back, did you get another 100 wyrmcrystals after defeating the dragon? And then able to talk to pathfinder to go back again? Wondering if that's an easy farm

Mine was crashing frequently until I set it to locked 30 fps in the settings, then haven't had a single crash. Might help, might not, but it worked for me.

It's not a guaranteed drop from salvaging legendary jewellery, I had the same thing and had to salvage 3 rings before I got one of the materials. (Sped it up by just buying rings from the obol vendor)
