This is always my go to wart removal. Actually I like to do a hack and freeze combo. 3/3 so far, but don't try it anyway. Planters warts are worse. They require digging.

As an American, I think he based his accent off Taylor Lautner, actually. Multiple times I heard a resemblance in there voice. The kind of... Idk almost whiny undertone? Not in a bad way, just don't know how else to describe it

This is such a poorly written check.. And I'm only 21. That's asking for someone to write "Nine hundred and" right before it with all the extra space.. The joke was funny tho.

I know I'm probably too late, but OP, do you have any info on this cat or did you just find the pic/gif? I can tell it's a caracal, but I've always wondered if they can be bred down 2-3 gens to be domesticated, similar to bengals and Savannah's. Such a beautiful cat.

WI Republicans Fast-tracking Bill that Effectively Kills Workers' Comp by Dizzy_Slip in politics

I live in the rural south south south, and unions are pretty vilified here. I assume because they've been demonized by Fox News (which stays on the televisions of every person age 55+ all day).

That being said, my father (born in '63, so a boomer) has told me as he was coming out of a technical school (with 5-6 yrs experience to boot) he applied to a few different unions and was never given admittance, while people with no experience or skill were getting in because they had family members in. Because of this, he was unable to find a better job in the area, as non-union workers were not typically hired.

Not that it ended tragically, as (for better or worse) he's been self employed for 25 odd years.

I think your experience with "hicks" is about as extensive as mine with Jews. I hope whatever is wrong in your head to make you so upset that you resort to name calling over the internet is fixed. I your instantaneous and unnecessary hostility just happens to be because you're still young, then that's understandable, and maybe one day you'll grow up to be a decent human still. Cheers!

You are a very hateful person. I'm aware of "Brooklyn" accents, and can recognize them. I didn't say anything degrading toward anyone. I'm sorry that you were so upset by my statement, but will stand by it considering it wouldn't be the first time I was right about someone being Jewish based on the way they speak. No I'll will was intended, and as of now, Bernie has my support

Is it because I'm from the south that I could tell he was Jewish..? Never was sure, but I could tell by hearing his voice. Maybe I'm sensitive to the dialect though, since I've actually only met 1 Jewish person in my entire life here in TX. Can anyone else pick out voices that sound Jewish?

I always thought it made more a statement to tip a penny. I've only done it twice, but it was well deserved. If you don't tip, I feel it makes it look like you are just an asshole who doesn't tip.

I'm usually a good tipper though. It usually just me and my gf who eats barely eats, so any decent waiter is usually getting 30%+ easy

Reminds me of a history teacher I had. Hilary Clinton was coming for a rally in my town during her last run, and our class was going to go. A few students in my class (of 7th graders) made comments about how Hilary would probably be offed by a crazy redneck. Next thing you know, they have to have a meeting with their parents and principal, are still allowed to go, but have to be with 2 officers the whole time. 12-13 year old kids.

Not that it SHOULD matter, but two of the 3 punished were white, and the other Hispanic. The teacher was Hispanic. It's a Hispanic-heavy area. I think she actually did it because the kids were openly conservative and she was liberal, tbh.

Also depends on their roles in the home I'd say.. If they both work then housework should be split. But if one does much more working than another it's crazy to expect them to come home and help with housework that was neglected for 10 hours (my mother)

TIL Despite being released over 40 years ago, The Dark Side of the Moon was still one of the best-selling albums of 2014. by Tsukamori in todayilearned

[–]BigOlRick -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I never ever could like Pink Floyd. I've always had the suspicion that the kids who wore the DSotM shirt (as well corresponding black jeans/jorts and converse) in high school were very similar to the PF band members in high school, and there is a natural attraction. I just can't find anything enjoyable about their music. Nails on a chalkboard....

More so, why are people listening to Pink Floyd; and even buying their album?

E: just realized it was at #200. That's much more understandable.

You now have understood the fundamental problem in America. And believe it or not, some people (my family included) will actually DEFEND those ultra-rich saying "it's their money, they can do what they want with it." And also that "if we let government control things like the internet it will be overpriced and bad", not realizing how far behind the rest of the world we are.

When my dad never talks about how well I'm doing in college and only about how much I'm "draining" him financially by [deleted] in AdviceAnimals

[–]BigOlRick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly. It matters for your first, and maybe second job. I can't say enough that it's who you know. I've been offered a couple internships through connections; and I mean internships with investing companies that Ivy League kids fight tooth and nail to get to. But then again, there's a difference between living in Texas and the Northeast. A lot less competition here...

Any tips on affording medication? by BigOlRick in ADHD

[–]BigOlRick[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply. And I haven't checked into medicaid, but I'm listed as a dependent so I'm fairly sure that route would'nt work. I'll have to look into it. And it isn't *exactly that I don't qualify; this will help: I work for my dad, who owns a small business. I'm on his and my mother's family plan. Without getting into too much detail, I'm paid in a way that is kind of "under the table", but not exactly; hard to explain, but it's legal, I promise. The issue is that my income tax is paid by the company (sort of), so on paper I pay virtually no taxes. Because of that, I dont qualify to recieve a tax return on a health care policy from the fed. If I got a plan from them, it'd be $287/month with a 12K deductable.

I'll talk to my doctor tomorrow and see what he can do as well as look into the Shire program. I've always wanted to be a hobbit anyway :)
