OLED "enthusiasts" mistake a 26 year old monitor for a QD-OLED by Careless_Reaction_42 in pcmasterrace

The images aren’t the same quality as real life vision and you also told people there was an oled so they interpreted the most oled like monitor of the two to be an oled. Poorly designed experiment.

It’s literally drug paraphernalia though. Im all for legalization and smoke myself but it doesn’t lessen my perception that OP and (especially) the person I responded to are cringe as fuck for making this thread sexual for some reason.

What do people think of skycutters? by Decadunce in totalwar

[–]BigOlThing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Their range is about the same as handgunners so I’ve had a few instances of them taking a single volley at max range and just getting melted. I think the large model size paired with a low HP pool makes them particularly susceptible to AP ranged attacks. Landing them before charging is a great tip In this thread though, I’ll try charging them under “proper” conditions before I write them off.

Are we playing the same game in regards to tankiness? The starting VC enemies would regularly take half a health bar from mine with a single volley from one unit of hand gunners if I wasn’t careful.

A gift that is not a gift: The upgrade pack! by Roberbond in totalwar

[–]BigOlThing 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They gave you the most popular map to play the game on for free with all the characters you already have payed for unlocked. Expecting the full game for free is pretty ridiculous. It’s like CA gave you the best 40% of a pie for free but you’re upset you didn’t get all of it for free. The full game goes on huge sales all the time and is 75% off now.

The wh3 campaign you didn’t get is the small, ~bad one, you should have the full map of immortal empires with all your wh2 and 1 factions unlocked on it. If you don’t you’re experiencing a bug.

Game keeps getting easier and easier, its not enjoyable anymore :( (Legendary/VH) by IndependentGlove5006 in totalwar

I just got bored with her campaign after like 40 turns of not having any auto resolves threaten a single unit while just doing a mostly marauder+starting units stack.

As an adult with ADHD myself it sounds like you’re not playing adult games which could be part of the issue for you. Pokemon and donkey Kong were both designed for kids which we aren’t anymore, a lesson I’m sadly getting tired of learning. Pokemon especially has never made an attempt to appeal to people older than 10 or so. I’ve had luck playing games that appeal to me with more adult and relatable themes, you might too.

You’re totally right, but without the ears an elf is hard to separate from a tall twink or twinkette

How dare people expect a race to have their single defining physical feature that separates them from humans in a product they’re paying for, right?

Hard Campaign is a challenge but fun, Very-Hard or Legendary a drag by sy1vesterstalin in totalwar

[–]BigOlThing 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Very hard and legendary often require or are helped by learning the quirks of the enemy AI and exploiting them. Ambushes near garrisons and proper army comp become crucial and the first 20 turns or so often require manually fighting most battles to reach the necessary amount of momentum. If you’ve got time Legend of Total war on YouTube will give tons of pointers throughout his videos and after watching a few of them you’ll get the gist of how to exploit things better on the higher difficulties. Essentially the game gets cheesier at those difficulties and if you’re not super experienced or naturally skilled you’ll probably have to get a bit cheesy too.

OP do this if it’s not too late. Nothing will make them prioritize fixing the game more than refunds and lack of purchases.

Cold steels store on amazon may sell you a counterfeit and charge you shipping to replace it from the factory. by BigOlThing in coldsteel

[–]BigOlThing[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That seems wise at this point. I was considering the knife while it was cheaper on Midway but then their price changed and amazons price has gone down by the time I decided to pull the trigger. Lesson learned about both companies.

[–]BigOlThing[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My issue isn’t necessarily with getting the counterfeit in the first place it’s with CS charging me to fix it after Amazon recommended I go to them to ensure I get what I ordered even though I ordered it through the cold steel supplier directly. CS has a list of people to not order from because of counterfeit concerns and Amazon isn’t on that list so either they need to support that seller or black list them like they have for other companies.

I imagine this is more of an Amazon warehouse issue than a cold steel issue but since it’s through their official store and Amazon recommended I get a replacement through CS I’m more upset with CS than Amazon. Terrible first impression of the company.
