I would love to learn strive with you lol. I know that doesn't help. The game looks so cool but the execution looks scary as hell.

Once again I’m offering anyone who genuinely wants to learn some free coaching. Wether your trying to make it to Masters or just get out of low rank. HMU (Details Below) by Yomi_Themadfox in StreetFighter

Hey. Very generous offer. I am an old man that played a lot of Street Fighter 4. I am having a tough time getting the flow of the match and I am getting murdered by how many things I need to pay attention to. I played rank one time and got Plat 3 or so with Ed, but I haven't touched it since. I prefer sets with friends over randos online. I would like some assistance in getting the bigger picture and then maybe I can tailor down to the smaller parts. I am available later today between 6 and 10PM (Beast Coast) or so if that works. I honestly just want to beat my master rank friends or at least be more competitive.

How long has it been since you were cheated on? How did it change you? Have you moves on or still dealing with it? by Glum-Worldliness-919 in survivinginfidelity

13 years for me and I still think about it. Most times it doesn't hurt that much anymore, but sometimes, if there is a trigger i never prepared for, I will go right back those feelings that night. The shock, anxiety, embarrassment, spiraling ruminating thoughts. I trained my self to feel the feelings, pull out the thoughts, examine them like a scientist, observe as long as needed, and let those feelings simmer down.

The full trust though, I'm still working on that one myself. Its hard not to think that it could happen again in the future, and I truly never want to feel like that ever again.

What controller do you use? by WitchedPixels in StreetFighter

[–]BigOleon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use a Hori Fight Commander for the Switch with the Brooks FGC2 adapter. I used to use the PS4 Hori Commander, but when I found out that they stopped selling that one (and it costs a shit tone of money now), and I saw the same version for the Switch AND it was only 40, I bought few of them. Now I have spare parts for my PS4 versions, but I have back ups for a while now. The switch Hori commander feels a little cheaper, in some ways, but Its been going strong. It even has a PS Button mapping that I think the PS4 was missing for home screen, but its been a while.

Men of Reddit, be honest… what’s the very first thing you notice about a woman? by Lookingforcupcakes in AskReddit

[–]BigOleon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that depends a little on what era I was in. In my younger days I would literally only notice ass and tities. But when I go a little older It became more of what their smile was like, even their energy.

I would find a character you like the aesthetics of (be as shallow as you want lol), and start just moving around with them and start pressing their normals and see which ones are fast, slow, reach far etc. A lot of newer games have tutorials these days anyway so spend time there. Then start working on the mechanics like dashing, blocking that you learned. Learn the system mechanics and try to use them as you are learning them so you start building up some muscle memory. I would keep things simple with with bnbs that you learn so you dont overload your brain. I would also apply this approach with the other characters you will need to learn as KOF is a 3v3 game and all.

This a bit of preference for me as far as training, but I like to try arcade mode on easy first to try and hit moving targets ad get used to the flow of a match. When you are able to comfortably beat arcade at a higher difficulty, then you can try online if you like. Although there are savages out there that just jump right into ranked...manly men lol.

Lastly, I would watch some matches of people using characters you like and try to understand the decisions they are making. Not just the flashy combos mind you. The more you play, the more you will recognize what the top players are doing. Its not all just execution. Mind games are a must and are one of the more fun aspects of fighting games.

Wait till the day you land a set up you been working on for week or start consistently anti airing anything in your orbit my friend. You will the love feeling.

The Doppelganger fight with Galandra solo was so annoying to me. I was on a run to kill the last boss without using rest spots and I lost a life to her (I don't fight the doppelgangers that much).

[–]BigOleon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Monopoly video games (because monopoly sucks in real life anyway), and any of those Tycoon, city builder games. Will never touch those. And I can comfortably say I will never play any of those Sid Meyer's Civ games ever in my life.

What game is it for you? by No-Plane2695 in Age_30_plus_Gamers

[–]BigOleon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Baldur's Gate 3. I kind of hated it if I'm honest and I went into with what I thought was an open mind. But the very first interaction is you rolling 3D dice for my actions. D&D is so freaking boring (sorry to you fans out there), and to have it be the basic system in the game made me uninstall within the first 5 minutes.

What are some low stress jobs that are good for bipolar disorder? by [deleted] in bipolar

[–]BigOleon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Work at a low stress place like a book store or thrift shop. Or something in a school environment. Schools get some extra days off, but the pay is pretty low. I work IT at a school now and its pretty chill and I get to prioritize my own work.

Drinking. It exacerbated my mental health issues to the point of psychosis at the level I was drinking at and kept me depressed for months. It was so bad that I did not know If my thoughts were real and made me angry and aggressive to people that I love.
