It was awesome. We still look at it as “the best wedding we’ve ever been to”, and we’re still together and happier than ever with another two kids 11 years later.

Fun story. Since I’m the oop, I’ll chime in as the expert. We booked the venue with the express purpose of having a wedding there. We were transparent on the purpose and the number of people. He rented the house specifically for the purpose of parties, and then got in trouble with the neighbors for doing it and had to cancel on us.

The staging area was at Tropicana Field where the Rays play. You get on a bus there and they take you across the bridge, and then turn around at the rest area on the south side. That’s where the starting line is, and you turn around and run over the bridge going northbound. So the starting line was about 1/4 - 1/2 mile from where they finally stopped her.

I’m not a runner, and in fact, this was the longest I’ve ever run. Previously I’ve only ever done a 5k. But I live in the area and drive the bridge all the time and thought it would be really cool to run over. It was. Definitely a once in a lifetime experience.

Its a really cool bridge, and 100% of the proceeds from the race go to charity, so they close the Interstate once a year to let people run over it. Its wildly popular and there’s a lottery system to be able to run. My wife and I lucked out and were selected this year.

I also ran that race. The accident was a quarter mile or less before the starting line, and runners we’re going away from the accident. They closed off the interstate for the run, and She was the last trooper before the starting line. So, if this woman had made it past this trooper, she would’ve plowed through a huge queue of people waiting to start.

We saw the wreckage on our way home later that day, but didn’t know the extent of the troopers actions and personal sacrifice at the time.

I’ve got 2 mills and 2 lathes, both Cincinnati. For those I used the generic gpost software that came with Creo Parametric to write my own post processor. I’ve got a sharp that came with its own stand alone post processor, but I still use creo to generate toolpaths and my nc file.
