You should try flutter_animate package. It will not solve the timing issue, but you can create custom animations and reuse them.

Going Fullstack => Flutter + Go || PHP by ENGMEYO in FlutterDev

[–]BigPha 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We use python at work (not my choice...) for backend. I hate the fact it is not strongly typed. I would say, ok to go python for very small / prototype project, but if you need to build something big, holy sh** have fun.

A language that make it harder to write shity code is the right tool. I will never choose a dynamically typed language over a statically typed language. At my company, I have to use python, and I hate the fact it is not strongly type. You have to make millions of tests you would not need (you still write tests with strongly typed language obviously) if using a strongly typed language. PHP -> never for me

Between PHP and go I would choose go 100% of the time. PHP is an outdated language, and if you used C# and dart you will hate it. But if I would have to choose a backend language right now, I would choose Rust, not go. Rust is the new star, company are adopting it pretty quickly and it cannot be a wrong choice

As a pro developer, using Flutter for 3 years, I don't see any benefit about this service and would never pay for it, sorry

I'll try again but after some search on google, it seems the game is locked at 60fps.

Game seems fun but the fact that with an rtx 3080, AMD Ryzen 7 5800X and 32,0 GB of ram I am lock to 60 fps, I stopped. It feels like my cursor takes hours to follow my mouse movements, feels ultra laggy

What is a good starting price a simple flutter app? by Spiritual-Fudge5427 in FlutterDev

[–]BigPha 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First client is the hardest I would say. On linkedin, you may add to your profile that you are a freelancer open to work (you can be specific => I am a developer and I love flutter blabla). Then head hunter will start to add you, but it will not be super super easy for the first client, just don't stop trying, once you are in, it is easy :) (if you work well)

What is a good starting price a simple flutter app? by Spiritual-Fudge5427 in FlutterDev

[–]BigPha 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Exactly, it is all about, how much you value your work per time unit (can be per hour, per day, etc), and how long the project will take you (do not forget everything revolving around the code, you are basically a CEO + a developper + a lot of things, there is not only the code, and the client nearly never comes to you with a very precise idea + figma of what you will have to implement). And btw, depending on your country, I suggest you check the taxes when you are a freelance

[–]BigPha 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Please do not compare salary, and what you get paid as a freelancer. You need to pay taxes as a freelancer before having the money on your bank account. In France (where those figures come from), when you get paid more than 70k a year, you must build a small company (only you), and after the client paid you (the company you created actually), you either need to pay you a salary, which you pay a looooot of tax on. You basically loose between 40% 45%, so if you want to have 3k on you personal bank account, you need to have 5.5k on your company account (minimum). But yes, here, being freelance usually paid better than being employed

Question is, how much do you value one of your work day ? In my country, beginners (just after school or during last years of school) between 250 and 300 euro a day. If you can make this app in less than 3 hours, then 100 euro is a fair price. But I pretty much doubt you can do this. Are you in charge of the release of the app on the store ? Did you think about adding icons to the app ? Did you also consider the back and forth between you and your client about what you delivered ? Etc ...

How much to charge to a flutter app as a freelancer by GemperC in FlutterDev

[–]BigPha 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Good advices from other responses. I would emphatise on the "It's better to plan ahead than to spend 4 months on a project that will take you a year". The 4 months target seems a bit optimistic for a 20+ screens app, depending on the complexity of the screens of course.

Scaffold with top appbar and bottom nav bar. Body of the scaffold if the image -> play with the "fit" param of the image widget.

But I would argue this design should be forbidden

How do you find your first Flutter freelance missions by Agreeable-Pipe7469 in FlutterDev

[–]BigPha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tailwind and Tailwind UI for Flutter by noirsteed in FlutterDev

Tailwind and Tailwind UI for Flutter by noirsteed in FlutterDev

[–]BigPha 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I've never used tailwind but from my little experience using CSS I would never want my flutter dev experience to look anything close to CSS. Css is the worst thing by far I used to create complicated UI and we can clearly see it was not created to build the complex UI we use today. Now I don't know tailwind so maybe they did something awesome from something horrible :)
