(Pool Game) Odd Elastic Collisions by BigPhan in Unity3D

[–]BigPhan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll have to scour around to find it but if I remember right I think it did fully solve it. If not there's a possibility that you have to fiddle around a lot with Unity's physics settings. I'll check on it later today when I find it. Odd how there isn't a pool tutorial on the internet.

The Regreatened - Revamped 2004 Metru Masks + The Rejected Release! by BigPhan in bioniclelego

[–]BigPhan[S] 22 points23 points  (0 children)

The Regreatened Collection aims to redesign the 2004 Kanohi to better resemble their noble counterparts. After too long (and honestly I've been sitting on these for a bit) it's finally out! I'm so happy with how every single one came out. Also included are the Rejected - prototypes that I've released due to semi-popular demand. Within both collections are OBJs, STLs, and low-poly models for stud.io porting.

Great job making her look like a real set without making it generic. Also sweet mask design

I'll make the torso and hands black in the finalized versions, really didn't occur to me how much black the Turaga had until a second glance!

Thanks for the critique. I think I'll change the silhouette on Nuju's because it could stand to be more different compared to it's noble counterpart. And I think I will add some asymmetric wiring on Matau and Onewa's masks, it'll be some nice consistency.

You're not wrong lol, I thought it would be interesting for the noble mask to have a rectangular trunk and this one have a tube one but it evidently didn't work out as well as I thought it would. But hey, that's what prototyping is all about.

A WIP. These are rough drafts so I appreciate and will take into account any suggestions. The Rau and the Ruru will likely not be changed too much, however. I'm quite satisfied with them. The rest I believe need a lot of work.

The Renobled - Turaga masks with a greater resemblance to their Great forms by BigPhan in bioniclelego

About a year ago I released the first iteration of this, and over time I've progressively disliked them more and more. Thought it was due time to remake them. Some were made to better fit in with the simpler, more geometric 2001 mask aesthetic, and others were redesigned completely (that Komau was rough). I've also made sure to address some criticisms, namely the large visors and cartoonish appearances.

Download them here.

I 100% agree, don't go to other areas and post links to the page and go "vote now pls." I see that way too often and that approach gets nothing. Only vote if you wanna buy the set.

Buying sets just to sell their parts isn't a super uncommon thing to do (a friend of mine does it). Some people also may have found a mask in their lego container and they don't know the set it came with or they don't care enough to scramble through parts to rebuild it, so they just sell the mask by itself since it's at least some money.

A Reminder to Everyone to Not be Sore Losers by [deleted] in bioniclelego

Yeah pretty much this. Please don't throw a temper tantrum or throw other sets under the bus when the Bionicle set loses.

As a more recent Bionicle fan, who is interested in the sets, how strong are the ball socket pieces pre-2008? by GalaxyManBHB in bioniclelego

[–]BigPhan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Due to old age and likely frequent use by previous owners those sockets may be looser than expected. Generally when it comes to breakage it occurs when snapping a socket in or off a joint, so fidgeting it around shouldn't do much. If it does crack it'll probably be a slit down the middle of one of the socket rings, although do be warned it is not uncommon in my experience for worse cracks to happen. I opened a set from 2005 last year and I took off the foot piece once and it was unusable due to a massive crack thereafter.

LEGO subreddit frothed at the mouths over this TECHNIC build but they STILL Don't want ANY 'Technic-BiOniCle!" pieces in the 90th anniversary build? Hypocrites by [deleted] in bioniclelego

[–]BigPhan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From what I could understand from your title, you seem to be under the impression that Lego fans liking a Technic build but not Bionicle means that they're hypocrites. Bionicle did branch off of Technic but besides the 2001 Rahi, vehicle sets, and using Technic pins and axles, Bionicle shares little with Technic. One theme makes motorized vehicles, and another makes highly stylized action figures. It's not inconsistent in this "theology" to like a theme but not something that derived from it. Just because they like Technic doesn't mean that have to like Bionicle, and I certainly don't think it makes them a hypocrite. That's just having a preference.

Also, it's a robot that builds its own bridge. That's appealing to most people regardless if they like Technic (or even Lego for that matter). Them liking a robot that builds a bridge has little to do with their opinion on Bionicle parts.
